And notice that everyone comments on how beautifull her voice is, not on how inteligent or smart the songs she sings are. I say this because the people who criticize Ariel for ''giving up her voice for a man'' seem to think she gave up her personality or individuality along side her voice. But in the film we see the oposite happening. While she can't use her voice she uses her body language to show of her personality. And Eric, who was obcessed with the girl with the beautifull voice started to fall for the smart, curious and adventureurs Ariel. To the point where Ursula had to use Ariel's voice to hipnotize Eric. So basicly, Ursula tryed to make Ariel plain at Eric's eyes to set her for failling. But he still fell for her. So she had to use the thing that made Ariel more beautifull than any othr person in the world for Eric to sabotage her. And in the early story boards (and I love that the 2023 version reused this idea) Ursula's hold on Eric was tenuous at best.

I love Ariel of course, she’s indeed the best princess in fact everyone I know in love loves Ariel! For people that hate on Ariel, what about Nemo? Because he didn’t to his father but his father learn, in fact how will you feel about Ariel meeting Nemo?

They really softened Anya in the musical and it hurt the whole thing. If movie Anya had met Gleb she would not have taken any of his crap. I think if Gleb had actually been part of the plot, as in maybe join the trio headed to Paris instead of trailing them (like maybe lie about wanting to leave Russia too), it could’ve sold the love triangle better. Also keeping Dimitri’s movie story and then giving the crowd of thousands song to Gleb. Last thing. One of those lyric changes I was annoyed by was the “Paris hold the key to her past. Yes princess I’ve found you at last. No more pretend, you’ll be gone, that’s the end.” I get why, the songs were reordered so it wouldn’t make sense for Dimitri to say this before he knew Anya was anastasia, but what if you give this to Gleb? Make it more sinister. I realize this is mostly negative but there are additions I do like. We’ll go from there is a particular ear worm for me. And quartet at the ballet is really cool to listen to.

Also in Cars, red is considered the most glorious color in motorsports and Lightning McQueen uses this color to symbolize himself as a rookie sensation! Therefore, it makes sense that Chick Hicks uses lime green to symbolize himself as a dirty driver!

I saw the theatre production last year back in march, and you’re so right. Anya and Dimitri’s relationship was so underwhelming and bland in the musical that they didn’t have that depth and romantic chemistry the movie had. I also felt that their buildup up in the theatre production was a bit rushed and choppy. I really didn’t feel believed that they were in love, like they were in the movie. Like where’s the banter? where’s the pining and the major yearning? everything was definitely more impactful when saved her when they were kids.

I felt that way about their relationship as well and I thought that maybe it was just Altomare and Klenna and the fact they had no chemistry because I saw the tour where the actors who played Anya and Dmitri DID indeed have chemistry, but I do agree the book and direction needed A LOT more work. I also was very confused with Gleb and how he "fell in love" with Anya and it never really read that was to me. It kind of felt as if he was tacked on to the story and not well developed because he was so militant and focused on his mission that at the very end, he not pulling the trigger held no weight and I was almost disappointed that he didn't. Maybe I need to watch his performance again. I just felt there was a lot of under development and plot holes surrounding he and his father and everything that happened with the revolution that needed to be fleshed out a lot more, and also with developing Anya with how she was found and how the Dowager heard the rumor, and with her being shot but still surviving, I just felt there were some things missing that left me confused, especially with the fact that the Dowager received a letter stating they were ALL gone. It seems they wanted the musical to be so different from the film that it lost a lot of heart and soul and seems like they just wanted a paycheck instead of telling an excellent story.

A lot of Wicked the book is pulled from L.Frank Baum’s original 14 books, like Lurline, Nick Chopper being the Tin Man, and Boq, who is the munchkin Dorothy comes across her first night in Oz. He’s hosting a party celebrating the end of the witch of the east and she is invited and cheered over. They see her as a munchkin witch because she is wearing both blue and white. One of the things I liked is how Maguire references both the movie and the book with the shoes being both silver and ruby depending on the light.

Hans backstory is explained in the book " A frozen heart". It says that he was bullied and humiliated by his brothers and his father considered this abusive behavior by his sons to Hans to be a sign of strenght upon the weak. So, I think that Hans probably was so frustrated by this mistreatment that he would have escaped to another realm to marry, and so he came to Arendelle to marry Elsa, but then he saw that Elsa was having trouble with herself so he targeted Anna. But i think that this theory that you made is very good and makes very sense, and if this is confirmed by disney that would be official: the trolls are the real villains!!!!

Yeah I agree with previous comments, while I hates/dislikes him (his that character), as he becomes ruthless cruel, but even also when if his actions were despicable way his karma was way too merciless & torturous tho, his fate was too horrible for what he did. Edit: Anyway, that Anna scene which kicks Hans into sea actually was too worst, just as for sake of her revenges only (besides her own unnecessary "obessions/fansgirling/blind & slave of love" whose towards Kristoff). So what if Mr. Leboeuf brought Eudora into their lives not only so she could make dresses for his daughter, but also so Lottie would have a positive, female role model in her life.

Originally, Charlotte was supposed to be an antagonist of the film as in the original script, Tiana would’ve been a maid working for her and she would’ve been a spoiled brat to her. This was later scrapped. This is what i read about her on the trivia section on the Disney Wikia.

I don't understand why they had to name this movie The Little Mermaid , the themes, morals and ending have nothing in common with Andersen's story. Unlike in Andersen's story the fact that she is the youngest of a sisterhood don't play any role in the plot. They could have named it the Mermaid Princess or the Princess of the Sea, I think those titles are not less marketable and they would have avoided the erasure of the original story.

Ariel has always been one of my favourite Disney princesses, and honestly she deserves the world. The slander against her is so unnecessary, and it was flaunted by all the hacks who made the soulless remake -_-

Honestly, while I'm not a fan of Frozen due to The Snow Queen being my favorite fairy-tale, I would've liked it better if Hans wasn't the villain. He just made no sense at all. So this theory at least explains why he did such a heel turn for seemingly no reason.

I think that Tiana and Charlotte have a beautiful friendship. I totally agree with your analysis and think it makes perfect sense. I liked the part about how you describe Charlotte as representing the traditional Disney Princess who is a girly girl who likes dressing up in pretty dresses and is eager to find her Prince Charming while Tiana represents the more modern Disney Princess who is more independent and has other dreams besides finding true love and dressing pretty. I love that they don't look down on the other for having different plans and dreams for their life but completely support the other and their dreams. Honestly, modern women could learn a lot from Tiana and Charlotte. It's important that we *support* each other's differences rather than condemning each other for them.
