I went away from Ncl a couple years ago because of their pricing and upcharges. This won't bring me back to NCL. Sad because I like the product

Just a quick update. If you are booked prior to Oct.1 2024 and you sail after January 1, 2025, you will not automatically get More At Sea. You will get the More at Sea beverage package as NCL has no way at that point to delineate the packages. If you purchased Free at Sea Plus that will be removed from your booking and be refunded to your initial payment. Just updating as I see other questions and mentions.

I will have to say I am a little unhappy about this change. Because the free at sea (as far as the drink package was) worked for me. However, I did always upgrade to a premium drinking package Because I am one of those that, like to have no concerns about how much I drink or the cost of things of what I drink. And I like being able to drink as much bottled waters as I could get everyday as well as getting freshly Squeezed juice. Now, none of that is included?😡 so I don't know how I feel about it. Hopefully there is some more Clear explaining that goes along with understanding this more at sea business, but as it sounds to me, I don't think I like it, but I still love Norwegian. I'm just going to have to figure out a different method with drinking.

I upgraded to free at sea plus just a few days ago before i saw all these rumors on cruise critic about the changes. Im still trying to understand it all but i think i made a good decision getting fas+ before they got rid of it

Good job John. NCL squeezing more $$$ out of each cruiser to add to their bottom line. It’s all about maximizing the return to stockholders.

I liked that this year we got free at sea and then was able to upgrade it to more at sea. I was hoping it was going to be like that in the future. I guess it was just so that they could phase out free at sea

Just one thing. You said if it’s over $15, you would have to pay for the whole drink (like Starbucks, energy drinks). According to the NCL FAQ, if you have More At Sea you will get $15 off any drink from the “Connoisseur Collection”

Do you know this affects the Free at sea Plus that I Purchased for my March 2025 cruise?

More transparent pricing. Probably conforms more to the spirit of the new pricing transparency regulations. I never liked them calling it "Free" at Sea. Misleading marketing. This is better for that. I am sure they put a lot of work into the drink package decision. It will be interesting to see how many more people start declining the drink package. My total guess is that this drink package change will be about a wash for NCL, but more fair for cruisers, as less non drinkers will be subsidizing the drinkers' package costs.

Thanks for your video, great information! My one question that I just can’t seem to find the answer to… are drinks included with the Haven or just if you have the additional drink package? You mentioned the minibar in your suite is included, is that only if you have the Free at Sea pkg? Just soda/water in room? Are the drinks at the Haven exclusive bar included?

We enjoyed Hideaway Beach but it was the first time there so nothing to compare it to. It was only $18 so figured it was worth the gamble. Ocean was a bit chilly so heated pool was nice. Symphony was there with us in Anthem and it’s amazing seeing them side by side how much bigger Symphony is.

We stayed in the Wall Street area and took the ferry to the port. Super easy.

Well grab a plate of sushi “to go” & enjoy it out on the deck. Always have people commenting that they didn’t know it was available 🤔

hey, you mentioned X-rays at check-in - are these backscatter machines like at modern airports? haven't flown or cruised since 2015 so would like to be prepared.

I sailed on the Prima TA. The public areas and eateries are way too small and can not cope with capacity. Disappointing cruise.

Just got back from the Sept 15 sailing. Had a phenomenal time. I liked the sea days and wasn’t really concerned about ports. They canceled Port Canaveral because of weather and we had an extra day so I was happy. Great weather for the perfect day.. I splurged and got the beach club. Got off the ship super early and had a great spot.. It never got really full, which I was surprised I thought the shows were the best I’ve seen and also had a blast at the street parties. A couple of nights the orchestra vocal leader for Hairspray plays the piano in the Schooner Bar. Connor was phenomenal. We had dinners in the MDR for most of the nights, but did book Choppes and Wonderland. I don’t think I would do the my time dining again, but do the late seating. I like the experience of having the same waiter and staff. We moved around quite a bit.. The most moving thing I’ve ever experienced was on this cruise ship when they honored all our heroes. The Cruise Director Elvis got the entire Royal promenade to go silent as taps was played.

MSC outsourced their loyalty program and i never got the correct points. My last cruise i was on Yacht Club Experience for 7 days cruise which is 1500, i got 600 points. I spent over $1000 for prepaid for shore excursions, dining package and Photo package and onboard expenses and got no points for it. I have emailed them several times with receipts, and they said i got the appropriate points but on their website its 1500 for Yacht Club Experience and 100 for every $150 prepaid or onboard expenses. Been on 7 cruises and never got appropriate points. Its pretty but very disloyal to their loyal customers

There's a bus from the transportation center (near the aquarium) that will take you to the mansions as well. It's part of the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) network. $2 for a single ride or $6 for a day pass. You can also go farther afield if you wanted to check out Newport Vineyards or Taproot Brewing.
