Na, The History of Trunks First transformation was the best and hit the hardest. My dude really was alone after that and was the last person left to protect the most important thing to him... his mother. I would even go so far as to say his transformation and Gohan ascended are tied for best SSj transformations.

One of the most deserved SSJ transformations ever. Trunks had lost literally everyone, every single one of the Z-Fighters and his entire planet. He and his mother lived in fear every day, so desperate he did traveled to the past just to save them all from the same fate. and my god the music in this is heartbreaking, original Z in the artstyle is BY FAR the best

ive seen every iteration of this scene, and by far, music, acting, scene set up, the og is by far the best and will always be the best. the original will always express how dark and terrible the world of dbz truly was in this time line, and i think the art style and execution bring out the best.

The at 2:03 - 2:44 makes it look like Gohan is merely asleep compared to his dead look of the original. Also in that version it looks like Trunks is scratching his head because of head lice. When that version had Trunks pound the ground before he becomes a Super Saiyan, it removed the unfairness he felt becoming one after Gohan's death. So the original is much more impactful, and the definitive version.
