@@dannyjackson2062 ,… That guy was probably me. 😆 👍🏻
Thats cool how you filed down the tang to give the jb weld a place to grab on i just put the epoxy and let it ride haha great video
@@knife_123 ,… I was thinking maybe I should have drilled a hole through the tang also. But I just notched it. Seems pretty solid.
what all you put in the knife jb weld ..i may attempt to do mine..
@@dannyjackson2062 ,… I like JB Weld Steel Stick epoxy putty. I push it down into place, where I want it in the handle with a pencil ✏️,…. I use the eraser side of a pencil to push the putty down firmly around the screw & bolt Tang of this knife. I tamp it with the eraser to smooth it out and level it. I use a flashlight to look down inside the handle to check out my progress. It takes about 2 minutes to get it all in place Then It sets up in like 10 minutes. It’s steel reinforced epoxy. Really good stuff.
Just ordered one myself.
Best Knives for the Money. ❤
@toby4745 ,… They are pretty decent knives.
@JoeDoomsday Yes Sir. That s correct.
Quality Knife and set 👌
great tip fix...sharp too!!

@@scodoguy5581 ,… Ya it really does.
Like this knife 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
RR makes decent folders, but they're a collector brand at their core. This is a perfect example of why you should stick to brands that specialize in what you're looking for.
@@old_timey_prospector ,… All this could have been avoided if they would have been honest. They marketed it as a full-tang knife. It’s not. They won’t refund anyone’s money. They won’t pull it off the market. They keep selling it as a full-tang fighting knife. It’s not right.
@JoeDoomsday Corporate greed is an equal-opprtunity employer, I guess. There aught to be more knife and tool dissection videos like these out there.

Would be a sweet blade with some micarta or even wood handles slabs. Cool ass blade man
@@hillbillyfromtheswamp6223 ,… Thanx. It’s pretty cool. I personally like these polypropylene over molded handles. Kinda like a shovel handle. Works for my arthritic hands. 😆
Nice. Im a D2 fan.
@@andrewcharles4349 ,… D2, well it’s growing on me. I hope KABAR does it right.
Same as kabar BK9?
@@cafeqc3793 , Somewhat I guess, but it has some big differences too. They are both similar in size But,… I like the over molded handle and solid tang of the Condor, plus it’s a full flat grind with a convex blade which is pretty sweet. The KABAR bk9 has better steel in my opinion (1095, Cro-Van) but it is a Skeletonized tang which I don’t appreciate at all. The Condor has a thick leather sheath, the Bk9 has a nylon sheath. The BK9 is a Sabre grind which makes for a better fighting knife. This condor kind of reminds me of an ESEE Junglas. Although I believe the Junglas has superior steel and build quality. I would have preferred it, if the Condor was just a bit thicker and had better steel. (It’s 1075) it’s ok I guess. Overall, I definitely like this big ol’ knife.
Not bad

Where did you order this knife from? Ive been looking for over a year for one!
@@darylkaufman9142 ,… I ordered directly from Sheffield Knives of England BUT you’re in luck because Wisemen trading just posted 9 of them available in black handle like this one is. Their website is tricky but they are a legit company. Just google: wisemen trading Sheffield mod knife and it should bring you to the right page.
I just ordered one from watching your video but to find it they call it a fixed blade knife!❤️👍💪
Mine is like that one but different. No bottle opener either and just says taiwan. Thicker shieth too but flat compass. Metal handle too.

Smaller version defeats original purpose, city slicker collectors do like it, nice review
@@Sam-c7y9d ,… I see your point I guess. This T3 version is almost as large as the T1 tracker. It is superior steel also. It’s an excellent throwing knife. Cuts cordage like nobody’s business. Good slicer. Works fine for food prep in the field. Makes awesome feather sticks for fire tender. It’s a bit lighter and more tactical friendly. You could learn a thing or two from a city slicker collector. - What would you say was the original purpose of the T1 Tracker knife? What can the T1 accomplish that the T3 just can’t handle? Rust? 😂. Weigh more? 😂. I have both the full size and this slightly smaller T3 variant,… I’ve used them both. I like both of them.
Hi Joe...I love kabar fixed blades I have the 1212 all black and Keaton handle straight edge and the bk9 I love both

@@Marcoantoniopp76589 ,… It’s double the money if you purchase immediately but I could not wait 5 years. So I paid Double. 🤦🏼♂️
Only a thing, it s not a real full tang right?
@@Marcoantoniopp76589 ,… well the handle is molded over the tang BUT,… The tang protrudes out the backside of the handle so most everyone would say in this case, this Knife IS a true full-tang. Even if you wanted to call it a “Stick Tang” it’s such a thick tang and because it comes completely out of the handle at the pommel it’s equally as good as any full-tang knives out there. You can’t go wrong with the Fallkniven Modern Bowie knife.
That is a beautiful KaBar. I recently purchased a standard USMC version. Took me a long time to finally get one. I do have a first run Space Force too. This one is so nice blued.
@@ChrisvilleUSA - I have a first run space force KABAR also. 👍🏻. For certain, these State & Union, KA-BAR’s are the best looking. I’m pretty sure they have “USN”the “Mark 1” the “Dog’s Head” and the “USMC” versions all done like this, as an option. They all look amazing. 👍🏻🔪

@@reowhite4862 ,… That sounds like a Plan. 🔪👍🏻
Thanks for this video. Bullshit bowie
@@cafeqc3793 ,… No Problem. I hate to badmouth a company but they won’t answer any emails or refund my money. They should recall this knife and refund everyone’s money. Or list it as a partial tang, display knife and sell it for like $9.99.
Looks like there might even be an improvement in the change of makers. The South African machete models often had super bad grind lines that were hard to correct. This is pretty neat and quite sharp. Going from 1055 to 1065 is also not making anything worse.
@@B51608 ,… It definitely has its good points. JoeX has a couple destruction videos of this blade on RUclips. The older version made in Africa held up noticeably longer than the Chinese version did, He said: the African version was way better and the Chinese version was “Crap”! - I haven’t performed any destruction tests on mine. Maybe JoeX got a flawed one from the factory. I like destruction test videos but they are not very scientific and can be terribly flawed. Just striking the blade against a car or chunk of concrete at a slightly different angle or with slightly more or less force can drastically alter the results, causing a failure to occur much faster,… That can happen without him even realizing it. - (So I take his destruction test videos with a grain of salt.) I’m not sure if this one made in China is much worse than the older version made in Africa. - Anyhow I like it. 👍🏻🔪
@@JoeDoomsday I feel like JoeX was too harsh in calling these crap. He was able to chop down trees with them and they still held an edge, that's pretty impressive for a $30 machete if you ask me. I like my South African machetes but I kinda prefer the newer ones just because they all came with a better edge.
Hey joe awsome blade be careful of the tang merry xmas joe
@@tomritter493 ,… 😂. Thanx Tom. I will be careful. 😂
I always like the design until I saw the tang issue . Waste of money. Thanks for the heads up
Still has that hidden rat tail tang. That might have been acceptable in 1944, but it isn't in 2024. I've seen a couple Kabars break at the junction of the tang, and I am not going to trust the Kabar until they fix it. It doesn't matter what steel they make it out of, this knife will always be prone to breakage. The Dutch Bros broke the Spatan Kabar in Magnacut in minutes, and it wasn't even a particularly abusive test, just batoning. Magnacut is way tougher than D2. I just can't take Kabar seriously as l9ng as it has that flawed tang.
@@MTMILITIAMAN7.62 ,… Ya I see your point. I agree. For me,… it’s a collectors piece. It could serve as a fighting knife for self defense. If you had to draw it and stab “something” , it would probably work just fine. It can open canned food lids in a pinch. It can make feather sticks for tender. It can cut cordage. You could skin game with it. It seems that if you pry with it at a sideways angle thats where its weakness really shows. Plus it’s not designed for hard, prolonged chopping. (Overall, It’s a very tough knife considering the rat tail tang. Just don’t use it for Chopping/Batoning wood or as a Pry-Bar and it should be fine) I think it makes a decent Fighting/Self Defense knife though. (There are way better options) 👍🏻🔪
Yep, it is a knife, not an ax.@@JoeDoomsday
This knife isn't made for hacking down trees, it's made for stabbing and slicing an enemy. Period. This knife would perform excellent for that and no way would break in that regard. For whatever reason the tang that you can see at the bottom is tapered, the tang is a little more wide then what you can see at the bottom. I'd rather have the D2 Extreme in a self defense situation against man or beast, more so then any heavy survival knife. You could get this thing out and be stabbing much faster than one of those ugly BK knives. JS. Weight and timing is a factor.
@ ,… I think when DBK (Dutch Bushcraft Knives) destroyed this knife very quickly on their channel it made the knife appear cheap and worthless. Nowadays people expect way more from a knife due to better heat treatment and better quality steel. Some of those BK knives and many others, are much stronger for all around survival scenarios. This KABAR D2 Extreme is a decent fighting knife but if it had a stronger, thicker Tang and Better Steel it could be So much more.
@rnkmode1876 Kabar markets this as a combat utility knife. This is supposed to be a one-tool option for an infantryman. My grandpa had his Kabar break digging a fighting position in the frozen Korean ground. I had one break just standing around bored throwing knives at each other's feet. Most of the use this knife sees isn't going to be fighting. It is going to be stupid menial jobs like opening ammo crates and MRE cases. Most of deployment is mind-numbing boredom and we do stupid stuff when we are desperately bored. Like stand in a circle and throw knives at each other's feet. Then there are the times your tool really needs to work. Like my grandpa having to dig a fighting position on a hill in Korea in the winter with no entrenching tool. It's not an axe, until you need timber to fortify and camouflage your fighting position. Infantry carries enough gear without carrying a separate tool for every possible scenario. Mostly, we use what we have, and we have a knife. It has to work, for combat and utility. Rat tail tang is no go.
This is a great version of the kabar. Awesome addition joe
It looks like it's over an eighth of an inch thick, do you need calipers or possibly a micrometer. As much money that you spend on knives you could afford precise measuring devices to give accurate dimensions on knives that you review so that potential buyers could learn about knives that they would be interested in acquiring. I think I will not buy because it looks like it's.
@@johnwilliams-ec1kw ,…I said: It’s over an 1/8” of an inch thick. I also said: it’s 3/16” of an inch thick. I used a tape measure. That’s a professional quality measuring tool. I even zoom in on the measurements so You can see the tape measurement for yourself, just In case I miss-spoke. I’m Not wasting money on measuring calipers, or a microscope or a wire cutting sharpness tester or any other special equipment to perform a simple unboxing video review of a knife. I have enough trouble purchasing all these knives & getting my weekly reviews up on time. If a potential buyer can’t accept a tape measurement, then they have some serious issues. I don’t sell any knives. I don’t receive any money or free knives from anyone or any company, so I couldn’t care less if you or anyone else buys a knife that I have reviewed. Your loss. More knives for me. 😆 PEACE. I checked out your channel. Of course No content. BOT
