Randall Knives: “Attack 18” Survival Knife
A box would need a much larger postal box. I ptefer the model 14 with the same blade. I don't need a hollow handle. But this model can be attached to a spear handle accessory. The # 14 attack has a full tang through the handle for strength. The teeth clog on metal. The diver knife also has a similar blade grind in stainless and gteat balance. Neither are really pointcentric. Designed to slash.
@@thomasesau2376 ,… way too expensive, to Not have a nice box or carrying case. Knives half the price come with beautiful cases. Like Fallkniven MB for instance. These are still fantastic blades. 👍🏻🔪
@@JoeDoomsday they are stored in butcher paper to keep from tarnishing. I own 12 Randals. I deploy with a Morseth and or a Gerber.
@@thomasesau2376 ,… the butcher paper is fine to prevent tarnishing. But I paid well over $1000. USD for mine,… I don’t want it traveling around the country in the mail protected by butcher paper and a cardboard box. It’s ridiculous. They should come in a padded, plastic case for that kind of money. There is No good excuse to ship a knife that expensive in butcher paper and a budget cardboard postal box. I can’t wrap my head around it.
Similar to the pilot survival knife 👍
@@tomasjasicek3489 ,… yes.
Just in case you don’t know, you can stash a firefly ferro rod underneath the saw & fish scaler & then you’d have room for an additional tool in the corkscrew.
9:31 good point, it would be so much better if ka-bar use shock cord retention system (the one on open top magazine pouches), easier to repair and no stitching required eh, might as well create another nylon "sleeve" with 2 x (4-5) webbing on the front to attach different pouches and 2 x 1 webbing on the back side just for the shock cord retention and a D-ring for dangler :)
and probably add some webbing on the bottom-front side of the nylon sleeve for utility strap instead of leg ties :D
Video so nice I watched it twice! 🎉
Nice video! ❤ bad a** blade i realy want one or two 🎉
How did you attach the GD belt loop to the sheath!? Lol
@@clintrip69, I remember it was a struggle. In my “ESEE 6 Knife”, video you can see it connected to the Kydex sheath when I compared the two knives,… so I did ultimately get it connected, I just don’t quite remember how I did it. It’s in storage at the moment, so I can’t look it over until I find it again. It’s also in my Ontario RAT 7 video in the comparison part of the review. I only was able to put two screws in on the one side of the kydex. You can see it in that video. I didn’t like doing it that way but it worked & it is secure.
I figured it out. I saw another review where the guy had it together. It's not a bad setup, but I've seen better. Cheers man! Your vid is what pushed me over edge to pay $275 on ebay for it... 🤦♂️
@@clintrip69 🤦🏼♂️,… lol
👍👍👍👍👍👍
How can I buy
@@Goodgod187 ,… Blade HQ has them. eBay has them.
Junk.
great knife at a greater price - order a tripod for the camera next
@@beargreasebrigade ,… NEVER! 👎🏻. 😅
Just got mine today, was hoping it would be exactly the same as the Mtech considering snake eye and mtech are both under Master Cutlery. Still happy it’s close enough lol
@@Bfr3shBrian ,… Ya. I compared them side by side and they’re pretty much identical,… the Mtech is a bit thicker and the fit and finish is just a little better with the Mtech. The Snake Eye Tactical is still a pretty solid knife & a good deal. 👍🏻🔪
I own a fillissa folder awesome d2
Man, im glad i didnt click off until the end so i can see the real thing compared to it. Sneaky MF’er 😂👍👍
@@TheGunsNBlades 😆. That’s why I put the thumbnail that shows them side by side so everyone will realize that both of them will be featured, somewhere in this video. LOL. 🔪👍🏻
So close… Thanks for sharing. 👍👍
Awesome! Got mine last month and am ordering another one soon. There is a place selling for $35. Dont remember the name but the model SET-X118
@@ChrisvilleUSA ,… Awesome. Good to know. 🔪👍🏻
Awesome piece joe. I will definitely try to add this one. Very cool 👍🏻⚔️
@@donavantew8278 , It’s decent. The Mtech is a little better quality. I put the link to it in my video description. 🔪👍🏻
@@JoeDoomsday you’re awesome brother
Excellent machete and marbles sheaths are great
I have the same set up on my old hickory's
I thought i was the only one with VG and orange esse's.
Very happy with mine
One of the sharpest blades ive received. It throws sparks like a dragon breating fire. I bought 3 of them Lol, yes i bumped the blade and cut myself😂 super sharp
I've always wanted one of these, but I've never even seen them budge on price. retty sure it's top of the line, but no way I could afford the $700 price tag.
@@ShellShock11C , there are two versions of this knife, one is more expensive and comes with a plastic, padded carrying case & a diamond sharpening stone,… I opted for the more affordable version that is just the knife & sheath, in a cardboard box. - I used PayPal, pay in 4 installment plan to purchase this expensive knife. 🔪👍🏻
As soon as you said D2 I completely lost interest, I didn’t want to know any more. If it was CPM D2 or PSB-27 I would still be interested, both of the latter steels mentioned are exactly the same recipe with finer grain structure. D2 isn’t a field steel in my opinion it’s too course grained and prone to chipping.
It seems others opinions disagree with your take. I believe D2 can be chippy but heat treated to a lower Rockwell for wood seems like a great choice. It's probably still harder then esee which are very soft 56-58. Plus this knife is $25 how many could you buy for one esee? I've yet to see one bad review an that's with people actually using it. Just saying I don't have one yet. I spent my money on BPS Aura in N690 it was $44. But actually $66 to the door by rowboat and bicycle. 😊
Buy civivi it's 40 bucks more an will last forever there nitro steel is really well
The steel is excellent, the grinds can vary in quality but for the price they are amazing and easy to sharpen and or profile. I just put out a video , made new handles, and put it in a BPS dangler sheath. I've been building knives with blanks for many years, and honestly, a D2 of this quality would usually run around $70 by other brands. Mine looks a bit like the LT Wright Outback now 😆 I'm a Flissa fan , gonna buy a couple more for future builds . ...love those BPS sheaths also. 👍
Great video! They are excellent knives 🔪👍
This thing was such a hunk of crap. That cable saw would break on you, the matches were trash and the compass didn't work worth a flip...but at 8 or 9 years old, we didn't care and had to have one. I bought one of the $10 Harbor Freight ones awhile back for $6 and it's surprisingly so much better than these were.
@@Guitarnivore - I agree. It brought me so much happiness & confidence as a kid. I loved it. I still do. The Harbor Freight is much better,… I put epoxy down inside the hollow handle to cover the tang,… it is much stronger now. Great Memories. 👍🏻🔪
Vaughan once made a similar small hatchet which it called a fisherman's axe, small enough to fit in a tackle box which explains a good use for an axe this small. They may still make it but I can't get them to answer up so I can ask them. It is amazing how lackadaisical some companies are become in answering customer inquiries.
@@wc587 ,… I agree.
Look at that turd!
Get a Cold Steel Wild West Bowie. Thise are crap movie props!!!! Crap Steel and heat treatment. No survival or defence use!
@@edwinabbel3783 ,… I agree that it is budget quality and made in China,… probably not meant for extended, hard use, like the original Lile Rambo knife was. - I have a cold steel Wild West Bowie. They are made in Pakistan by the company Windlass for cold steel. They’re Not that great in my honest opinion,… They certainly are not Rambo style, survival knives either. I did put epoxy down inside the handle to secure the Blade which is thick 420 stainless steel. It doesn’t seem to be any worse than any other 420 stainless steel knives that I own. Thanx for watching & commenting. 👍🏻🔪
Brother, where did you find that? I have been wanting to get a replacement Recon Scout with the BLACK blade ever since I gave my first one away to a buddy on mine in the Army when he went on his second deployment to Iraq back in 2007. It was my favorite Bowie knife and I had every intention to purchase another one, but by the time I got around to it, I was too late. Cold Steel had discontinued the version of the Recon Scout with the black blade.

That’s a beast joe. Awesome fixed blade my friend
@@donavantew8278 ,… Thanx Donavan
Nice in a garden tool kinda way but not really going for the Randall Made level of refinement
@@bunsonhoneydew9099 ,… It is a little rough around the edges perhaps but it is hand cut & hand made in USA, and it’s a Beast. The handle is very comfortable, the steel is thick & strong. The sheath is thick and very high quality. It’s Not for everyone perhaps but, I really like it. Thanx for watching & commenting,… I appreciate it.
That HC marking means hand cut. So, one of the prototypes before waterjet process is done. That was the second one (02) so, you literally have the second one I made of those. Glad you held out and got the one you wanted.
