VOLTFUSE is a specialty headwear and clothing brand based out of Eastern Canada. Rider owned and driven.
The Serpentine — Newfoundland & Labrador
Last summer, we broke out of our comfort zones and headed off into the bush to test our products in a new setting while capturing the adventure along the way.
We set our sights on the mighty Serpentine River, located in Western Newfoundland and known for its dramatic landscapes and large salmon.
Follow along as we lift the veil on a special place that few get the privilege to see, get eaten by mosquitos, and commemorate the stories and reflections of those that have contributed to the Serpentine’s legacy.
Produced by VOLTFUSE
Directed by Jake Dicks
Featuring:
Matt Scott
Alex Henniffent

The North Pen Tapes
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.2 года назад
A weathered dispatch from the tip of Newfoundland’s Great Northern Peninsula. The North Pen Tapes is an eclectic collage of original and found footage that shares memories, thoughts, and experiences from the remote towns and outports at the end of Route 430. Follow along through snow-packed streets, down plunging valleys, and across frozen sea harbours, to explore how the harshest environments ...
YARN
Просмотров 5573 года назад
YARN is a portrait of the resourcefulness and simple pleasures involved with riding a snowboard by yourself in the woods. Looking beyond that, YARN is a reference to the countless conversations shared with others around an old multi-purpose trapline, and also the knit products that VOLTFUSE has built itself around. It has a double meaning. It displays the snowboarding of VOLTFUSE’s founder, Ale...
What We Grew Up With
Просмотров 4913 года назад
It's so easy to become accustomed to something when it's all you really know. Daily rituals and what you see outside your window each morning could very well be the most striking and foreign thing to somebody else. The idea of hopping on a snowmobile and in a few short minutes from your backdoor being engulfed by a vast backcountry and surrounded by untouched snow, is something many cannot rela...
The Biggest Little Hill - Smokey Mountain
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.4 года назад
Known for its industrious mining sector and pristine wilderness, Labrador is also home to quite possibly North America’s best kept secret - Smokey Mountain. A legendary ski hill that has quietly existed and remained under the radar since the early ’60s, with rumours of old folk skiing down the mountain even earlier than that. Smokey Mountain is the third and final ski hill to be featured within...
The Biggest Little Hill - Mount Baldy
Просмотров 2024 года назад
Nestled deep within the Okanagan Valley, there’s an offbeat, community-driven ski area called Mount Baldy. A large mountain that despite being abundant in snowfall and rich in terrain, has never fully been able to crack the shell towards attracting much outside visitation. Because of this, Mount Baldy and its rich offerings has remained firmly within the hands and to the enjoyment of a tight-kn...
The Biggest Little Hill - Falcon Ridge
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.4 года назад
Quietly tucked away within the Canadian prairies, there’s a tiny, pocket-sized ski hill called Falcon Ridge. A place where plaid has always been in style, where vintage snowmobiles are a primary mode of transportation, and home to one of the most captivating, family-like communities you could ever stumble upon. In short, what Falcon Ridge lacks in elevation, it makes up for in its vibrant chara...
Old Fashioned Winter
Просмотров 3494 года назад
Nowadays, winters seem to be more unpredictable than ever. And if you've ever been to Newfoundland - that applies tenfold. But, when winter does decide to strike hard, and maintain its frigid grasp, the locals often dub it as an "Old Fashioned Winter." Last February, it appeared to be one of those winters, so we ventured deep into the Bonne Bay region of Western Newfoundland. A place not tradit...
Mt. Hood | VOLTFUSE

This summer, we joined forces with the fine folks at High Cascade as an official sponsor of camp. We rounded up a crew of Canadian riders from coast to coast, and then headed South in search of some top-tier summer boarding, cheap beer, slight culture shock, and most importantly - good times. Each of these was well-achieved, and we look forward to catching you up there next summer! Film & Edit:...
"The Trail" | VOLTFUSE

“The Trail.” An isolated, DIY, wooded terrain park located within the central region of Newfoundland and Labrador - the same place in which the initial idea for VOLTFUSE was first conceived. Not only that, but also a metaphorical reference to the pathway that we have been venturing upon for these past 8 years as a brand. "The Trail" is a short-film that encapsulates the raw passion, drive, and ...

Summer boarding is most definitely still a thing. Although there is no denying the visible effects of climate change, it was certainly still possible to ride a snowboard on the Blackcomb glacier this summer. Awesome video. Will always remind me of our friend Rob Solo when I see that river. He told us so many stories about it. Cheers
Dude just camped here a few nights ago where you guys launched the boat. It was rainy but so beautiful
Awesome video boys ! I'm in Cape Breton and I was out salmon fishing yesterday knowing darn well I'm a little early but it didn't matter. I just wanted to swing a fly again. Usually around the middle of the month before things start getting going around here , so I'll have to depend on RUclips videos for now . I enjoyed every second of this video bud.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed!

Amazing video! Well done, way to represent!
I solo camped here 2 weeks ago. It's my favorite place on earth. My 3 min video is garbage compared to this master piece. Great job. Cinematography is amazing.
Excellent video
That is a really good video. Perfect editing and production. I enjoyed every second of your video. As a salmon fisherman myself, I can understand all the good time you guys had on this fishing trip trip. Thank you for sharing it with us. Pat
Glad you enjoyed, Pat!
Awesome music. Very original and sounds like Bob Dylan (the first two songs).
Fantastic work gentlemen.
Awesome video! What’s the name of the song about Dawson City?
Thanks! That song is "In The Morning" by Doug MacNearney.
Fantastic editing, product and story. Thank you for sharing! Should have alike for every view!!!
This is an awesome film! Huge congrats to Matt and Co. Makes me super envious having not been to that part of the Island.
Great film! Cheers!
You popped up on my feed. Just watched the opening and I was intrigued. Subscribed also
Just a heads up, that river is a slow moving river but can change overnight and can be extremely dangerous. It is a wonderful river but can get crowded at times. Loved all the footage, great job.
Beauty film boys!
wow awesome video! headed to mckenzie river end of august!
My home mountain, he is right we also came and left lab city
This is incredible gentleman. Cheers boys 🍻
Not just a fishing highlight reel. This shows the hardwork and reality of salmon fishing. "River Talks". Wow........ Amen and Hallelujah!!!! 👊🏼👍🏼🤙🏼
It's definitely a game of patience and determination. Glad you enjoyed!
Great piece Matt. A beautiful place for sure
A great watch...and some pretty great living going on there! Awesome!!
Awesome footage
Great job Matt and Co …. Absolutely spectacular footage 🤩, not to mention those beautiful salmon 🎉🎉
Awesome Job Gents! Shear beauty down there!
Great footage and AMAZING country.................I hate to say anything negative about a video showing such a beautiful part of our province, but listening to it not just once, I have to ask." Why does a foul mouth nowadays seem cool"?
Used in the context here they are exclamatory. Expletives that fill in and give a sense of how overwhelming the experience is. Unlike profanity which damns. There is a difference. Great film! Really felt the passion.
Ray said it best, you can’t beat the Serpentine.
Can confirm “salmon fishings a hoot!”
Yewwwwwwww!
Beautiful job Alex and team!!
Love this!
Very well made video!

The f bomb at 5:35 was enough to pause it while sharing this with my 7 year old as we were considering downhill ski options. Maybe there is a family friendly promo video as well?
