International Loadstar chilly 40° start
A little off the beaten path of Jeeps and all, but I have a soft spot for old binders. Chilly start video of my DV550B powered 1978 International Loadstar. No glow plugs, no primer, just all fuel and air. Enjoy the smoke show. May do a walk around on the channel if there’s enough love.

Jeep Cj7 Golden Eagle

304 V8 story; it's life started out as a Golden Eagle PO put a Custom paintjob on in because it was a show Jeep. I will paint it this spring back to its original glory.
Beautiful !
Nice!! We have an old J-10/Gladiator (no pump) fire truck. It was an old forest fire truck, and later was donated to a small volunteer fire department. After a while it was sold to us. It used to be truck 38 for a fire department in Ohio. (We completely stripped out the truck because it was slowly rotting and still had some good parts)
Bad ass jeep .. any doors or hard top?
I actually have the original doors in the shop that I had painted, but never installed them. Sold the hard top a long time ago. I think they look like cracker boxes from the rear.
Ok,,,,, Very Nice, I had a 1979 CJ7 304V8 Golden-Eagle as well, you can see it in my "Avatar" and the quickest way to tell if it's an Original Factory Package,,,,, is it will have a "Clock" by itself to the left of the Steering wheel, and to the Right is the Tach, if you look real close at my "Avatar" and looking at my right shirt-pocket, right to it's left, you can see the "Clock" on the dash...... So, it looks like yours is a Factory Package, and they are pretty Rare for sure...... 1977, 78, & 79 were the only yrs Built..... and in the CJ7 Only...... BD in Alaska 😎
They were built in 80 also.
Why are you trying to pass this off as a 77? I can tell you 1000% it is not a 77. I have a 77 GE and you sir do not. You are full of crap.
My wife has the 2019 golden eagle package
Awesome truck
Big thanks. She’s getting an engine swap here soon.
What would you expect one of these to go for these days? Does $10K sound like too much for one with a 360 engine rebuilt plus a lot of other parts replaced? Paint has patina, no headliner and front seats need reapolstering.
Consider your geographical location. That’s a good price for a Northeastern Jeep. Too much for a southern Jeep. Interior work is painful, Atleast to me. But if you’re in the northeast, make sure it’s super clean panel wise.
Dennis Collins will buy it.

How do you know if my 72 jeep in 2 wheel drive or not. It didn't come with a shift nob
Put it on jackstands and toss it in gear, front will spin if it’s in 4wheel.
All the way forward is 2 high. wiggle it and push hard while in neutral. Put in first gear, drive to end of driveway and put a for sale sign on it. You don’t deserve this classic and iconic vehicle if you’re not willing to do the research and learn.
At 71 years old, have had many from the first new CJ5 Levi's to my '85 CJ7 with 5.0 power. If you add extended shackles on the fronts, I hope you got a set of wedges to add the caster back so it wants to track straight. My last Jeep had front shackles and wanted to dart all over the place. Beautiful 'ol Jeep.
Like the narrow wheelbase of the earlier Jeeps. You could add bigger meats and keep the wheel assembly inside the fenders!
Nice.
Price and location
Not for sale
My Dad sold his 54 Willy's and bought his Golden Eagle brand new. Last Jeep he ever had. I miss my Dad. My favorite was his 46 Willy's.
Great video! Jeep is awesome
Joe, how can I get in touch with you? Thanks
@@jdon1114 best way is on here typically.
Nice jeep. You did a great job. Glad to see younger guys interested in the CJs
I have a 74 jeep just like it with the tub already replaced. I am about to start my frame off restoration. We will have to swap notes.
Beautiful Jeep!
I have a Truck Very Similar to that, But it is not a j200 Gladiator. I do not know what type of jeep Truck it is but it is very old. It Is not a Fire truck, and has a Steel Hydraulic Bed. I am interested to see if you might know what kind of jeep i am referring to. Maybe I can send you some pictures of it.
If you still have it, send me over some pictures somehow. More than likely a later 000’s series Gladiator.
Nice Jeep, I have one green 1974 jeep too :)
I have a green 74 also that I haven’t posted about, retired race Jeep that is stuck in the 70’s/80’s.
Fuel filler is wrong. It should be round. The square filler didn't arrive until 1978. Also, the CJ7emblem doesn't belong on the grill. It's nice, it's beautiful, but not a restoration; it's a restomod. The original ignition system was a Prestolite. It was a piece of junk and the first repair by almost everyone was going to a Motorcraft distributor and some other electronic ignition such a a Duraspark, or an MSD, or... I own a '77 as well, and it's no "restoration" either. Still, a nice job.
Don’t forget the rocker molding is supposed to be chrome and not gold.
I picked up a “real” 78 Golden Eagle last year, I wanted to ask if you ever put on the Holley carb and if so would you recommend it? It’s running a motorcraft 2100 series now. No problems but just curious how the 304 liked it. Thanks man! The jeep looks amazing! 👍👍👍
I did. It’s a 465cfm 4 barrel Holley and it’s fantastic. I didn’t jet it or truly adjust too much of anything but the idle mixture. Electric/cable choke swap is a must.
Thats a nice truck, what are your plans for it?
Preservation and back to pumping water.
@@VintageJeepGuy36 nice its always good keeping things alive
Dash isn’t original
How not? Clock, tach are original to the Golden Eagle/Laredo packages.
JGJeeps18 I’m sorry your correct I was thinking speaker there on left but I’m backwards sorry very nice Jeep
What brand of paint did you use? I've tried 3 different paint supply places near me and they cannot get the formula to mix the factory color. My 78' was repainted before I bought it but was originally Mocha Brown as well and I'd like to repaint it back to the original color. I'm not sure if it was a Golden Eagle though. Good looking Jeep BTW!
I used a brand called omni. It’s a base/clear and it’s oil base.
Jeb, is the "Limited Edition" decal under the "GOLDEN EAGLE?" Is that a stock decal? Did you add that? Holla
It’s a factory location sticker.
my first car in high school. paid $3250 in '89. V8, AC, automatic. great restoration!!
Amazingly gorgeous man , “Golden Eagle 🦅 “ are the coolest jeeps ever
I'll trade you for a 2015 CR-V with very low miles! PLEEEEEAAASEEEEEEEEEE!
For sale?
Roll bar isn’t 77..
That tub isn't from a 77
Christopher Taylor: roll bar?
Tub is a 1979 tub, all steel with no body work. Running gear is all 1977. Sorry for the confusion
@@VintageJeepGuy36 that tub is from a later model CJ7. 80s
@@christophertaylor2316 right and wrong. This tub variation was made for the 1979 model year until 1986. My previous reply above corrected the fact that I always call it “my ‘77” since that’s the Jeep that it started as.
Very Nice! Where you come from ????
Pittsburgh region
I hope the CJ feels good and you dont sell him.
Thanks! i just recently stripped it for paint and put a new winch bumper on it
very nice jeep, it looks all original. The levi strauss edition makes it awesome as well.
