The real question is where Bionicle, Throwbots/Roboriders, and Hero Factory fit in. I’m thinking Bionicle is at the very beginning, then Throwbots/Roboriders and Hero Factory after Ninjago. I like the idea of Chima happening after Bionicle but before Castle; rahi were the last universal common ancestor to all LEGO animals, with some of these animals evolving sentience before/alongside humans. Furthermore, I also like the idea that Laval and kin formed the legends that inspired the Lion Knight’s insignia
The Mars Mission spacesuits look very similar to the Blacktron 1 spacesuits.
Absolutely awesome video and your channel is truly an hidden gem, subbed and gonna binge watch all content up to today :) I wish you luck with algorithm so you get snowball effect with gathering viewers :) Cheers, also Merry Christmas and Happy News Year :D
Thank you so much for your kind words! I will take all the well wishes I can get; I know some of the things that make the channel appealing are also not helping when it comes to the algorithm, but I'm hoping to bridge that gap a little more next year. :)
BLACKTRON ONE GOOD | Blacktron II BAD
The "No holidays, no lunchbreaks, no mercy" policy is so cruel. Also love the song!
Thank you! The policy is direct from LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed; the song parody is a wacky idea I had that I'm pleased has gone over well. :D
@@loreescape47The song is such a perfect choice for a faction named Blacktron. Love the lyrics and passionate performance. I do remember playing lego legacy for a while though im unfamiliar with the lore. I was surprised to hear the intro song "lovely day" on the radio because i only associated it with the game at that point
Beltar. By you command. I see what you did there
Hehe, I have a lot of these little references in the scripts, but hardly anyone mentions when/if they catch them. ;) Thank you!
Great video! Good job! 😊
Thank you!
At 2:50, what is that clip based on? Love to get my hands on that robot/mech. Is if from that old rgp type lego game??
That's from LEGO Minifigures Online, a MMO that was only online for a little over a year before being shut down. I wish I'd taken the time to play it back then, it looks like it had all kinds of fun characters and environments. The trailers and game footage folks uploaded should have some more reference angles if you decide to build it--I don't think it was based on a physical model.
I really appreciate how you list all your sources.
Thank you! I hope folks are seeking those out or remembering when they encountered them back in the day--there's so many fun LEGO sources out there, and many people have put a lot of work into preserving them for all to enjoy.
Wow. Impressive work! I had no idea there was such a deep lore behind these themes! I saw them only in catalogues and on shop shelves.
Thank you! Blacktron didn't start out with a lot of lore, but it's certainly picked up quite a bit over the years since.
I actually the lego creator computer 🖥 game.
Nice! Did you get to play it much? Our copy kept crashing our computer, lol.
Were the complete episodes of lego pirates i can't seem to find them on your channel.??

29:10 Monkey Kid is set in 2020? In China?????
That was my best guess at the time, it had to go somewhere, and I'm still unsure if it's not supposed to be it own thing off in another realm, like Ninjago or Nexo Knights. However, the set 80036 The City of Lanterns includes two robots just like the one from Time Cruisers. This was said to be Dr. Cyber's first invention, so now I'd guesstimate Monkie Kid to be about 30-40 years before Time Cruisers, in the 3740s or so. Enough time for Dr. Cyber to invent this model of robot in his younger years and for it to become commonplace.
Great video! :D The outro made me add it to my favourites! I too had the headcanon of combining the Zotaxian's two names into Prof. Locust Webb.
Thank you so much! I figured it sounded better than Webb Locust. ;)
@@loreescape47 Combining alternate names into full names works well with some of the characters (I think Zec Wizer has a nice ring to it) but less with others (Gypsy Moth Sharp or Danny Longlegs Steel sound arkward, so perhaps Sharp and Steel may be nicknames given to them due to their abilities?)
Something I noticed about the Insectoids characters: The gray-skinned Zotaxians seem to be the ones driving the ground vehicles, while the blue ones appear to be the ones piloting the aircrafts.
Good observation!
@@loreescape47 The blue ones also always come with neon green helmets and the gray ones with dark green, and the two races never came in a set together. I'm actually a little surprised the gray and the blue Zotaxians have never been depicted as rivaling factions, with how varied their portrayals are. But hey, at least it's nice to know that for all their faults, the Zotaxians aren't racist.
I've been hyperfixating on Zotaxians lately, I've never known other Lego Lore Nerds also exist! You earned my sub! Notice how at 31:55 Danny Longlegs is holding what appears to be a reassembly wand similar to Chamon's.
Ah ha, nice catch! I didn't even make the connection. :) And thank you so much!
It's weird that this game portrays Basil as a villain when the Time Cruisers comic has him as a good guy.
A lot of LEGO characters are like that--depends on where you catch them in their life journey, I reckon. :)
This is such a well made video, I love how you source everything and link all these different sources into one narrative.
Thank you so much! Glad to see the Zotaxians are popular on Andoria too. ;)
This was awesome! I'd love to see some collaboration with stop motion animators to bring the lore to life someday!
Thank you! I'd love to see this happen too!
Awesome video! Please do more on the 90’s space themes. Would love to see you do one on Spyrius, Unitron, Ice Planet, Exploriens, and Space Police 2.
Thank you! I want to get to all of them for sure, though I'll be jumping forward and then back on the timeline a little first. ;)
Building the Warp wing fighter right now listening to your video !
Fantastic! That's an awesome set; I got it for my birthday many many years ago. :) Glad to be providing something to build by.
This would be clever modern because of the times marketing if it were official lego made ! Something tells me this is passionate genius.
9:51 The pirate boats are from 1990, as far as I know. It was the year that the pirate land area was added, and it seems to have been the first atraction.
Thank you! I think you are indeed closer to the mark here; I've checked my notes and I'm not sure why I put 1993 there originally. The Autumn 1990 issue of Bricks n Pieces magazine has a feature on the ride that indicates it has not yet opened, Wikipedia says 1991, and the Spring 1992 issue of Brick Kicks magazine has it as the "newest attraction" at LEGOLAND. (At least it's closer than one notable LEGO influencer I've seen who turned to the camera while on this ride and said something like "This is one of the original rides that opened with the park in the 1960s". ;) ) Did you visit the part around that time? I'd love to hear more about it! The land is still pretty impressive, but it seems like some of the changes made to accommodate new attractions ended up removing some of the cool elements tied to the original pirate theme, like ships you could dine on. I really want to do some videos on pirates at LEGOLAND at some point.
@@loreescape47 No, I was born in 1996, but I'm a local and have been to LEGOLAND countless times throughout my life and want to learn all about it's past, which sadly isn't well documented. I resently went there with my mom and discovered that they had put up a little timeline, on which pirate land was stated to have opened in 1990. The new attraction of 1992 was the LEGO canoe in LEGOREDO TOWN, and the other initial pirate attractions were the pirate carousel; a Fabuland ride from 1986 that was repurposed sometime in the early 1990's , and then the light house, that Is one of the few rides I don't know the year of and have resently been removed. One of the things that I like to do is look for any and all footage of LEGOLAND Billund older than 2008 on RUclips. I managed to find my dad and big brother in the background of one of them from 2002. I'm still upset that they wrecked the dining ships to make way for the Pirate Splash Battle, based on the obsolete 4 juniors theme, one year before the 2009 revival. One of the repurposed shipwrecks is mostly intact and the name "Sea Hawk" can still be seen on the back (at least in 2014 when I last checked). The other one likely said "Dark Shark" but the wierd thing is that the gunport colors are reversed and they both had bluecoat flags and a pirate standing onboard. Another attraction I remeber that might be difficult to research is a huge climbing castle where one half was wolfpack themed, while the other was a fictictious eagle faction, and there were letters scattered around that spelled "Merlin", and if you said the codeword into a microphone a golden egg would rise from a nest on top. It was removed to make way for the Vikings River Splash from 2006, which also significantly shortened an adventurers obstacle course, that really dissapointed me.
LEGO Space Police 3 has a criminal belonging to, or at least wearing, a Blacktron 1 / Blacktron2 uniform hybrid, possibly placing it as a intermediate phase between blacktrons?
I like it! Given that the Space Police II era uniforms are seen in a historical context in the Space Police III videos; I think this might be a case of the uniform being a holdover rather than SPIII taking place between Blacktron eras, but the whole Space timeline is so expansive that anything is possible.
8:33 the book is in hungarian
Correct! There are some accidental incorrect visual citations in the video, though this one is just unclear rather than a slip up on my part. I typically only cite the visual source of an image/book enough times to establish what it is and where it came from, but I do try to include which source I'm using for the content itself throughout the video. In this case the Hungarian version of the UFO booklet is the only one in good quality online. But each translation of this booklet actually had unique lore information; in the German version's case it was a completely alternate comic story, using the same artwork but with a rescue mission for the Zotaxians rather than the aftermath of a failed rebellion. So it's the German story, but I mainly used the Hungarian scans because they were the clearest versions available. (You can see the German version on Brickipedia, but it's just pictures rather than scans so the quality isn't as good.)
The UI design and visuals for the intro were absolutely sick! How did you make them?
Thank you so much! I don't have a lot of graphic design skills so a lot of it is layers of stock elements. For the intro I tried to mash together elements inspired by the X-Files and Alien intros while giving it its own spin. One technique I used a lot is to sandwich a cutout of the model in between the background on the lowest layer and a copy of the same background on the topmost layer, but with the opacity set very low--it makes it look more like it's in the actual shot without getting too fussy about the compositing. (I popped a picture of the Cyber Saucer on stock footage of a jet, and after blurring it up I think it looks pretty good in the stills here.) For the Explorien UI I figured out which elements I wanted to use (some of them are based on the actual elements, some of them are inspired by the Explorien UI seen in LEGO Racers) and dropped them into Photoshop, then used them as reference and used the Shape tool to draw over them. (The good thing about LEGO Space design is that it's simplistic enough that this works pretty well.) Then I imported it into Premiere as layers so I could have some of the buttons "light up" by fading them in and out individually. I had to imagine what some of these might do--for example, the little triangles on top of the big Explorien hologram sticker ended up becoming Star Trek viewscreen-like running lights. I also put a few stock animations on for good measure, and included a stock video of scan lines for extra 80s sci-fi goodness. When I was happy with the sequence I copied it out for several minutes and nested the whole sequence into my main timeline. (I learned my lesson from the Blacktron UI I'd made for a previous video--on that one I actually had all the little individual layers for the buttons in the main timeline for the video and it was a huge mess.) It was probably a solid day's worth of work on the UI and intro each, so I'm really happy you enjoyed them!
@@loreescape47 Oh wow, I didn't expect you to go into such detail, but I am all the more thankful for it! In any case, keep making great video as always!

Pieces of eight, y'know, mate. ;)

Ahoy. I’m back me king.51
Welcome back!
Haven't watched yet! But I can't wait! As a die hard Lego Pirates fan, this series is everything! Thank you as always for continuing to make these!
Thank you for continuing to watch! :)
Love this series, can't believe we're past the halfway point already
Between treating two of the modern incarnations of Pirates as prequels and the bulk of the narrative sources coming from the first three years, it feels surreal that we've gotten to this many episodes but still have so much of his story yet to tell!
Fantastic serial, simply great! 😀
Thank you so much for watching! :)
He's back and he COOKED!
Thank you!
lets gooooo i have been waiting for this.
Hope it was worth the wait! :)
Did blacktron 1 actually end lorewise cuz i love blacktron 1 :(
I had assumed when making this video that Blacktron I became Blacktron II (Future Generation), since that's implied by the minifigure biography for the Evil Mech, but there's been some further developments since then in things like the LEGO Space Book that have made things a little bit cooler and more complicated. It's possible Blacktron I is still out there. But also, both Blacktron factions would have been around for thousands of years, so the lore never really ends. :) (And as always, it's up to you, the LEGO Maniac to decide what really happens. ;) )
@@loreescape47awesome! Are they 2 different clans or are they the same clan
My favorite Lego Space designs. I cannot believe all this stuff was connected in the lore and I never knew! Thanks!
You're welcome! It's my favorite as well. :D Thank you so much for watching!
All hail Blacktron!
Yo actually you told me that blacktron is lead bij 2 ppl is then 1 of them the leader of blacktron 1 and 1 of blacktron 2?
In the lore of the book LEGO Space: 1978-1992 (which was released after this video was made) it was suggested that Blacktron II was an offshoot of Blacktron I that separated in order create a vast, peaceful civilization after the first Blacktron faction had caused massive destruction in the universe. That faction in turn had its own splinter group generations later, which was led by the two unnamed leaders I mentioned. So there's a wide number of possibilities for Blacktron's "current" leadership: The duo heading up the renegade criminal faction (one of which, I would speculate, is Beltar from the Disney adventures comic), the leader(s) of the "benign" Future Generation faction (which I would speculate is the current form of the Blacktron corporation), and the additional possibility that the original Blacktron faction is still out there in some capacity. The storyline in that LEGO Space Book was said to be a product of the author's own imagination, but it is in an official LEGO book, and I quite like the expansive scope it gives the Space themes, so I look forward to integrating it into future videos.
@@loreescape47 But does then blacktron 1 even still exist if blacktron 2 are good guys
Who ks the current leader of the blacktrons then 😅
Shrouded in mystery! The LEGO Space Book has painted a picture of a fractured Blacktron Future Generation, with a splinter group under the leadership of two sinister, unnamed dual leaders...
@@loreescape47WAIT IS 1 OF THEM THE LEADER OF BLACKTRON 1 AND THE OTHER 1 OF BLACKTRON 2 OR COULD U GIVE ME THE LINK OF IT?! 😅
Good video. I didn’t know the lore behind it, I just thought it was a cool statue. Like the Tony the Tiger one. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you so much for the use of the video! I was happy to shed some light on this guy. :)
Wait all the black stands boxes And adult no fun They've been there all along
Impressive, sir.
Thank you!
I've always loved how a random figure from a bricks and more set became so important to Redbeard lore
Right? It's these kinds of random connections that made me want to do the videos in the first place.
Interesting video idea
Thank you! I've trying to do something like this for as long as I've been online!
Dear Lego, hire this man as your historian. That is all.
Let's hope Billund is listening! ;)
I had no idea Nexo Knights was an alternate timeline. Just assumed it was wayyy after when all the factions became one.
Oooh, that's an interesting possibility!
Where is the next episode?
It's on its way!
@loreescape47 in all honesty, keep this up. I have been looking for a Lego deep lore channel for a while now and I love it. Consider doing a Lego Iceberg video.
Thank you so much, I'll definitely keep that in mind--the LEGO lore iceberg is pretty large under the surface. :)
Bizarre crossovers like this are why I love the 90’s era of advertising.
It was an amazing time. CD-ROMs in cereal, goofy high concept contests, and mascots as far as the eye could see.
Thank you so much for this video, been trying to find lore on these guys for ages
You're welcome! Did you have any of these sets growing up?
