To me He is the best Actor ever - most good actors can only play a limited type of roles - for example Jack Nicholson - can he do comedy? I doubt it. Mr Hackman, did ALL types of roles, the comical villain in the Superman movies, in this one - the strong angry type, the nasty policeman in Unforgiven - he can do them all and do justice to each role

The director said Gene Hackman hated the movie and thought it was going to be the end of his career

Hackman was no hack, he was the real deal. I sure miss him on the screen.

we know it was hard or so we are told..to work with him. but i also heard he helped as well. glad to hear that you had a great time with Gene. i really think he is truly great.
