I was a Ranger at Ft Lewis back in the late 70’s ….one morning a Highland Regiment marched into our camp for “joint training”… Pipes wailing…we were mesmerized. A grizzled NCO beside me muttered. “Well they march pretty….can they soldier?” Turns out they could….very well thank you.
Pointless
18EW8, 18FW8, 18ZW8.
That little sway of the whole band in time together as they step left and right is so subtle, and just rustles my jimmies.
For all those who've never been to a Step Off and march to the field, it's something everyone should experience. Gig'em ! co '88 👍
Abbotts brown shirts at the ready!!!!!
Awesome!!!!!
I know it sounds corny but, DAMN, it makes me proud to be American
Watching a large band on the march always gives me chills...even if one of the tuba players looses cadence!
Excellent! I wonder now, 20 years later, how many universities would allow such a number.???
I was 10 in 1966 when my father brought home Sgt Barry Sadlers Ballad of the Green Berets album. Still one of my favorite albums to this day. Ended up doing 4 years in the Army myself.
My dad brought it home in 66 when I was 6. He was a helicopter mechanic with 3 tours. I wanted silver wings, so I joined the Airborne. Never made it to SF, my eyes kept me out.
GO aggies!!
Goose Bumps.................
all those sloppy people walking by the marching ... pig ignorant.
EX SPECIAL FORCES 64@68-71
Why is the opening music the theme for the police academy series of films?
It's the theme from Patton
VERY IMPRESSIVE...GIG'EM FROM 1961 ....!!!
Everything was wonderful except I thought the uniforms too closely resembled those of the 1940's facist in germany and Italy.
One of if not the most impressive marching band in the world..
Yes children in 2004 all we had was potato cameras.
Gig'em '81. K-2 CT. Behind the Band is the Fightin' Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets!
I had the honor of meeting Barry Sadler. I was working for the Boy Scouts of America at the time. He came to the office to arrange a fund raising event. Nice guy.
Did you know you can the Ballad to the tune of “Tiny Bubbles”?
Strange people. Skinheads!!!
All they need is a monkey with a tin cup.
The fact this video doesn't have more views is astonishing... Beautiful plane.
Inspiring!!
I’m a Longhorn fan, I approve
She is brilliant an has a great voice right down to her dance an salute well done ❤❤❤
If this doesn’t give you goosebumps, you are dead Most people don’t understand that Texas A&M developed more military officers for the second World War™ than anybody outside of the service academies
Sousaphone player back row, second from the right needs some marching practice.
Mhhm Patton theme at the beginning
God bless my brother be safe
So i was with my sister there bc she goes to collage there and yhe reville bugle call woke me up at 5 in the morning
Can you imagine a college campus where even 1/100 of the graduating class could actually pass a personnel inspection; do the manual of arms; and, qualify with the military rifle? I don't know - it just seems wrong. If I could render that much service to my country so can they.
“Give me an Army of West Point graduates, and I’ll win a battle. Give me a handful of Texas Aggies and I’ll win the damn War”. - General George S. Patton
LOL. Every West Pointer I served under was a know-it-all tool. My first platoon leader was a West Pointer. Thought he knew everything and refused to listen to our platoon Sgt. Constantly got us lost because he couldn't work a compass and map. We were out training on a movement to contact and he decided to fire off a parachute flare. He slammed it against his thigh instead of the palm of his hand, the flare went horizontal, and passed about 2 inches from our batallion commanders left ear. A couple of days later we no longer had a platoon leader and our favorite butter bar was the new batallion supply officer. Our platoon rejoiced. 1978-1980, Ft Ord. 2/31st inf
❤
Impressive to say the least!
Are there any recordings of his being sung? I have a small box of these records along with a box of Auburn 45 rpm records if their fight song and know nothing about them.
Steroids testosterone for Men estrogen for women get a doctor to explain it you can get them at GNC the police do them the military does them sports players do them Red Bull monster energy drinks granola bars Gatorade you need get them at the base store fat burner
Graduates from Texas A&M, The Citadel, West Point and VMI make up the heart of the Army's officer corps! Gen George Patton said: “Give me an Army of West Point graduates and I'll win a battle... Give me a handful of Texas Aggies and I'll win a war.” I'm biased, though. My son-in-law is a Texas A&M graduate and retired officer; My best friend from high school also graduated from A&M, was an Army officer and was seriously wounded in Viet Nam. GIG 'EM!
Change the music and it reminds me of Hitler youth parades in 1930's Germany.
If that your opinion, don't listen to the Chilean Armed Forces and Carabineros marches. From a Sefadirte.
What a ridiculous leftist comment. Lmao
I am a Canadian who went to Texas A & M and played for the Aggies as a defensive back. I was drafted by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League because I was designated as a Canadian and not an "import". I played 6 games, returning an interception for a touchdown, and broke my ankle never to play again. I will never forget the kindness love and sportsmanship of the people there. Best marching band ever, and the Ballad of the Green Beret brings tears to my eyes. 'Aggies do not lie, cheat or steal nor tolerate those that do' God bless you all. Forever in my heart. From your friends and neighbours up north. We have your back!
That is so cool whats your name?
Beautifully done . God Bless them all
Best college marching band ever. Great drum majors.
I`m surprised that no one mentioned the song being played when the video first starts is from "Patton" ..Remember?!?
Мало мы Вас уничтожили во Вьетнаме. Приезжайте, друзья, сейчас, в украину. Мы Вас ждем. Чтобы Вы увидели дух России. Удачи!
Just stumbled across this 15 years later. Can't believe I found a video of the Aggie Band with my buddies and I in it. It's a little blurry, but I'm in boots on the near side, first trumpet behind the sax section. And good ol Darius behind me. Good memories. Miss ya'll. Whoop C/O '08
I'm Canadian and I love it too
I am disappointed in that the show from the rear of the band towards the end of the video, one of the aggie bass horn players (second from the right) was woefully out of step TSK, TSK In any event---- best marching band in US. GIG EM!!!
