Never heard anyone say that, as a matter of fact i've heard the opposite. Wrap the wire around shaft snug as to not get falsing. I see yours are wrapped around the shafts in your videos. Are you saying there too snug? For what reason would I loosen the wraps? Are You saying it's straining the wires? Or constricting the flow of signals? please tell Me. you have My curiosity. Coming from an electricians point of view a wire is letting the same amount through it whether its tight or loose, if its kinked well that's different. Thanks Clive.

@@GarysMetalDetecting just that your top twist is so tight it's straining against the co axe jack--so it's safe to guess that you are pulling hard at the bottom too. so when the coil tilts there is more strain on the hardware. Ive wrecked so many detectors and coils. I put the coil at a 45 degree angle then tie an elastic around the cable. This ensures some slack. Unless you have free cable moving in the water I don't think there is any problem with having some slack. The cable bunches towards the bottom too so when it's tight--it gets even tighter. just an observation. good demo BTW.
