On our first visit to Israel in 2022, it was my non Jewish partner that said after a few days, this is home, we should move here. It always surprises my Israeli friends that I commute for 1 hour and 20 each way to work because where i live, houses cost less than 30% of the price for a similar property in Edinburgh, they wont commute 30 minutes LOL. I have visited Israel twice and I am looking into making Aliyah. For me it is a little difficult because in the US I am a Patent Attorney and the professions of law and engineering are a little different in Israel. Second, if I do come, I feel I need to spend some time in the IDF even though I am a US combat veteran and older than the typical Israeli draftee.
