@@fred3467 lol on putting her fingers in his mouth! Well, as a kid, this film terrified me! I remember it as good, horror fun... it was a family favorite when me and my siblings were younger and it would do a late night showing on one of the few late night broadcast choices we had back then! Out came the snacks and the fun! Both Crawford and Davis did their horror films as they got older. Remember too, it was Hollywood who stopped knocking on their doors. Women have struggled more than men in getting parts in films. And that was Hollywood turning its back on great female stars. For many of the greats, if they didn't take a role like Straight-jacket, Baby Jane, Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte, there was almost no work... Yes, they were often seen as a bit campy, and whether you laughed at the silliness, or enjoyed whatever spooky fun the films gave, at least you got to see the stars chewing the scenery up! And to me, there was a lot of great, enjoyment! To this day, (an old man at 65!) I love doing rewatches of all of these old films! They seem too, to have grown a cult following among many film buffs, which I think is great! One of the enjoyments I get out of my love for film, is introducing old, fun horror movies like these to younger fans... I guess it's all in the point of view, yes, it's a bit silly, definitely campy and not exactly a classic film like The Big Sleep, or Casablanca! But I don't want Casablanca every night! And it's still, (to me,) a terrific choice for a late night guilty pleasure!

@@lonewolf82007 I agree with your assessment regarding their late career. During my undergrad work at NYU, I was able to research in detail Crawford's career, especially her pre code films. Actually, I prefer her to Davis, who I feel went overboard in some of her films. Baby Jane was probably the best out of all their "hagsploitation" films. The reason why Davis's performance worked, was because of Crawford underplaying her role with subtle nuance, which tempered Davis's histrionic interpretation of the titular character. Crawford's facial expressions conveyed how Jane's behavior affected her, which played well. As far as Charlotte, I felt that Crawford would've been a better foil than De Havilland. Infact, I've read where Davis practically rewrote the script to feature her more and to cut Crawford's part, which made her leave the film. That's just my opinion though.

@@chipmunkvernoy i love the innocents! Its one of my old favorites! Definitely we need to do the innocents before long! And i love Pamela franklin! Very under rated in my book!

@@chipmunkvernoy bette was fantastic in the role! She displayed a lot of subtle and nuanced emotions and when she let loose with the creepy, it was scary as hell to me... she also was very sympathetic in moments! I grew up watching hush hush sweet charlotte, baby jane, the bad seed, etc... those movies have a really warm place in my heart...

@@chipmunkvernoy keep watching, and feel free to make some suggestions for future movies! We are into the holiday seasons of thanksgiving and christmas/new years, but we put suggestions in at a higher tier than even our own choices often!

@@otstupnik yeah, the host was really excellent also! A different kind of movie... I had read good stuff about The Host, and then when I watched it, I was pretty blown away with how truly good it was! We need more movies of this quality! Every so often one pops up and impresses me as those both did. I liked Parasite in a similar manner, another wonderfully done film!

First time, I don't know, but it seems like it was right after it came out. Don't know why I was able to see it so soon (it wasn't at the theater)? Yeah, loved The Host, as well.

This movie is hard to watch at times, but undeniably a great movie.

Well I am not sure can contribute too much to your page/channel... I am a big Larry Bird fan though and Celtics fan of those Bird era Celtics! My channel is devoted to movies and movie review/talk ... just myself and my nephew discussing various movies each week as amateur film buffs...

@@billandersen3143 i do remember the old commissary being next to the bx in the 60's... they did build a new commissary where my dad worked that was down closer to the flight line... more towards where the back gate was

@@billandersen3143 i worked at the nco club for awhile, dishwasher, barback and cooked also... i remember the main lounge had a kind of green/blue decor... it was near the kitchen entrance. The casual lounge had these tall tan vinyl bar stools around the bar... an early projection tv suspended up in the far right corner, and in a room to the left was the game room... pool table and a couple of pinball machines... there was a playboy model pinball machine! Lol! The middle bar was mostly open on event nights and when they had a band playing... i worked a lot of jobs there... did ballroom setups, liquor runs... learned to cook there and left for a cook job in portsmouth...
