They look great, but they need some better designs

The Cybermen are my alltime favourite recurring villains, and the wooden Cybermen are awful

In an interview, Neil Gaiman said that Cybusmen survived onboard the CyberKing, which Mondasian Cybermen rescued. The two Cyber races merged to form the New Cyber Empire, divided into legions. The Cybermen in "The Pandorica Opens" were Mondasian Cybermen, according to Steven Moffat. However, Neil Gaiman's statement means that Series 5 Cybermen were from Mondas and the Parallel Earth.

Great video. In the extended universe, there are Primus units above Cybertroopers, Cybercommanders above Primus units, Junior Leaders and Lieutenants above Commanders, and Senior Leaders and Lieutenants above Leaders and Lieutenants. Cybrids like Tobias Vaughn appear to be equal in rank to Cyberleaders. The Cyber Director, Cyber Levellers, and the Cyberium are equal to Cyberplanners. There is also the Super-Controller, the Cyber Emperor, CyberKings, and the Cyber President that are equal to Cyber Controllers

IMO the older designs are generally better thought out. The design needs to be utilitarian with added space for machinery to enhance muscle strength and various computer and sensor systems to interface with the brain. This suggest simple shapes in one piece to create resistance/strength whilst providing the necessary flexibility. the single material suit design makes more technical sense. For the modern era designs, the complex panels shapes look more like design embellishments rather than driven by a need to access the interior. There is also a lack of life support. Even if the only human bit left is the brain itself, you need some ability to generate biological energy and take a breath. If you have an armour style design, I think you would tend to move towards plate armour designs from the middle age. Whilst complex, these are also simple shaped metal pieces. My own view is that taking the classic Who designs and adding modern construction and make-up materials would most likely provide a better representation (which is why the modern Mondasian design is as good as the original). I would also except Cyberunits not to get washed very often, so those deployed outside ships/bases should be stained and rather dirty (but NOT rusty). Getting the voice right is also very important. On the whole classic ones are better. There should be no emotion as well of course.

My favorite Cybermen design has to be the 1980s versions. The modern versions are great and all, but you also gotta respect the classics.

My favourite Classic Who Cybermen are definitely the original 1966 ones, they are so creepy especially the fact you can see their hands and they're much closer to human than the later iterations, really reminding you where they came from. As for Modern my favourite are the 2020 Cyber Warrior design, they're a fantastic blend of previous Cybermen designs while also being very unique and of course very technologically advanced, it's a perfect design and I hope we see more of them going forward! On another though... Can't believe we've got brand new Doctor Who today, after 13 months of waiting it's finally here! So excited!

I like the 2013 design, perhaps it's a little too Ironman-esque, but I think it lends itself to looking like a functional machine suit rather than a costume. The creepiest ones and my favourite are the original Mondassian Cybermen and the modernised version. Something about the masks is far more unsettling than the steel faces of the others, perhaps because you get the constant reminder that there are people inside the suits suffering.

What’s weird is the cyber men in the 4th and 5th doctors time tend to just attack people versus assimilating them like most cyber men do.

Think people forgot something about the "Time War". Galifrey has been destroyed numerous times, whole timeline being wiped out, variations of familiar villians and entities have risen and fallen. The Cyberlotds can easily be wiped out or locked on a timeline. Matter of fact, the Timeless child can even be shunted as a rogue timeline.

I've been watching Doctorr Who on and off from the days of the 5th Doctor and my all time favourite baddies were the Daleks. I have changed my favourite baddies now to two even though one of the baddies has only been once. They are Vashta Nerada and the Cybermen.

I suspect they might never appear again. Though, if a decent story is written for them, as arch manipulators, or so forth. I hope to see that.

But the daleks can regenerate too, regeneration is now just nuclear proliferation lol YOU GET A REGENERATION AND YOU GET A REGENERATION AND YOU GET A REGENERATION CYCLE

What rank would the cyberman with the black handlebars but vrain exposed in the next doctor be?

Hopefully like the rest of the chibnall era crap this will be overwritten and have never happenned.

Great video, fun to hear the explanation of the Cybermens lore. However, I will say at times the volume of the music is too loud to the point where it drowns out the sound of your voice. I’m not an expert on editing by any means though so I’m not sure how you might fix that. Keep up the good work though 🤗

Great video nicely done. I noticed you did forget to mention a few ranks such as the cyber warriors (the sort of advanced soldiers of the cyber armada) and the cyberlord (seen In the next doctor/A good man goes to war, essentially like a standard cyber leader but has its brain 🧠 exposed and a black face plate/handle bars) For me personally I view the cyber planner as a sentient battle computer for the Cybermen, holding all the information and data collected by the Cybermen and controlling the cyber army whenever a cyber controller has been destroyed. However, I believe there are more than one of the cyber planner and cyber controller, as we know the Cybermen have originated from several different planets. The cyberleader to me has always acted as a general of a specific squadron. This is evident in the five Doctors as we see 3 different groups of Cybermen, which have their own cyber leader. xx

The 2013 design from Neil Gaiman’s _Nightmare in Silver_ is my favorite. It’s all streamlined and perfected, with the face that hearkens back to the Classic _Who_ era.

I always thought the cyber planner was above the controller interesting to find out their official rank in the cyber hierarchy

Wow I think this is really good the only thing missing and while I know it’s expanded media so u might not know it but this a rank saposidly above controller called the super controller which acts as the heart of the cyber empire yet there has only be one in the audio last of the cyberman and it was destroyed I think the idea is that a cyber controller would be in charge of colony world as in the kingdom of silver there was one on the world called Tasak probably meaning there was one on every tomb world

Hopefully they will be back along with Ashad.

what i want to know is the newest NON timelord cybermen. they adapt like the borg. can they take on the darleks. like super showdown

I feel like the murray gold music is too close to the volume of your voice making it kinda hard to hear. I don't know how to edit but I am sure you would be able to set it to be a better balance so that the high parts don't drown out your voice. but good video.

The best cyberman is all of them they should all be mixed, and mathere are race focused on Survival, they will prioritize resources. Military leaders will be the new design while the weakest will Be the original

John Lumic had uncovered the technology left behind by the Invasion Cybermen via Tobias Vaughn's International Electromatics. That stuff pointed his research into a similar direction to the Cybermen of The Invasion.

The cloth faced cyberman actualy do not scare me that much. From immersion poibt of view all you need to do it proper head shot and their brain is smashed, gone Modern cyberman are far more threatining since there is nothing you can do unless you tend to have anti tank weapons in your house, they feel inevitable

What I love about the Cybermen evolution is there has always been an aspect of them that has always been recognisable!

You don’t see the cybermen 3 times either in the second doctors era, 4 times, moonbase, tomb, wheel and invasion

Really controversial but I must admit that I really don’t love the 80s designs that much. Also the portrayal of them are far too charismatic then i ever think cybers should be. Though the stories they appear in are great of course

Each Design has something to like. Only thing I don't like about the "Modern" cybermen is the glowing bits. On the chest. That seems to Toyetic to me.
