I created the most epic paludarium background!
I finally finished the background on this massive 1000 gallon paludarium. In this video, I will show how I apply concrete to a background, use stamps to apply texture, use tools for additional detail, and demonstrate how to paint concrete for a natural stone look.

Carving and detailing the 1000 gallon paludarium part 3
Просмотров 456Месяц назад
This week, I textured and carved the first half of the 1000 gallon paludarium. This is a first for me as this is the largest project that I have ever attempted along with being the first time that i have attempted using concrete stamps to create texture in concrete. To create a natural stone look I used a combination techniques including using trowels, stamps, and brushes to create a realistic ...

This week I completed the design and preparation phase of this enclosure. I created a mount for the tree branch to attach to the enclosure, I built a fake stone to hide the basking lights and then applied the scratch coat to prepare for the final application of concrete. #fakerock #reptiles #paludariumproject #paludarium #diyenclosure

Trust, as long as th k-9 isnt involved you should be good.😂
It's an escape well. Dont clutter it.
@kjmoran4948 I have enough other exits in my basement that I think I'll be fine, plus all I have to do is push up on the top and it will pop off.
I'm wondering what kind of greenhouse, the magical plant maybe
@@juancastellanos1209 no mostly orchids and airplants.
Pretty sick
That room must smell extremely bad
@Dirty_one_67 everything is bioactive meaning it has insect cleaning crews that remove mess and smell. Having live plants also significantly decrease any remaining smell.
The song kills your soul
just out of curiosity, why are you switching from drylok to mortar?
@chroniclesofab6206 mostly time and durability. Morar requires a lot less steps and can have more detail with less carve time and mess
This is awesome! But can the wall board hold that much amount of cement?
@snowpiecez4120 it can, it was framed the same way as a standard load bearing wall and now has an upper frame holding it in place
Wow man im still struggling on my 30 gallon build lol . Congrats this should have more views !
I'll be posting a thorough update soon. I'm having trouble with my editing software destroying my video quality, so as soon as I figure out that problem, I'll post more videos!
couldn’t even clean the glass for us smh
That’s not my real voice guys😳
Couldn’t even wipe down the doors before the vid...? All enclosures look super neglected
@joeylapuma5937 If you are talking about the dart frog tank, I leave those doors like that on purpose. The alge growth helps the frogs to climb the glass easier and gives them more privacy.
Looks great! What kind of mix did you use?
@austinpartybus8695 it depended on the area. For the majority of the build I used a mixture of crack resistant concrete and Portland mortar but around where the tree will be I also added in water resistant mortar.
you are cool
This is awesome, can’t wait to check out more videos. I’m excited to watch this channel grow
Wow the way you made that look like real rock with definition is amazing
Id be having tour friend come help a day a week with maintenance man. Or have him come drop off the uvbs you need. I got a huge collection sd well and i work 50 hrs a week as well. I work on my tanks every day after work till about midnight atleast. So i can relate to the amount of work and money that goes into it. But your friend should be helpinh out if your having a hard time man Wish you the best brother, was good of you to help him out
Haha, yeah the reason I had all of his animals was because he had just moved cross country a month earlier than planned and had to get rid of everything with a weeks notice because of work, I've since sold all the animals that he left with me and life is much easier.
I like the carvings
Ewww this you’re your room!?
Aaawww so pretty ❤
W so cool!
How do you make your arid substrate radd?
@@blainecarter856 I use a mix of top soil, sand, excavator clay, and stone and desert substrate.
Aww ❤
Lizards are cool
the gecko effect

You know that one belongs to the streets saving people 15% or more on car insurance!
THE SLAPS OF THE FEET AS HE RAN 😂
THAT IS A HUGE GECKO WHAT BREED IS THAT
That's a standings day gecko, I believe that it's the largest species of day gecko
I used to have a Tegu, let him out the 6foot tank, he'd climb the curtains, run upstairs, think he didn't want to live in the house...me wonder why..?.. anyway gav him to someone else.. when I started having babies...they belong back in the wild... regret...
The pain of a lizard lover/owner trying to catch a lizard without Touching it's tale😂 I feel that
Hopefully you got it without the tail breaking off
"Hhhhhhuuu I hate you " as he locks eyes and licks his lips killed me lol 😅
Catch me if you can moment. 😂😂😂❤
When you said I hate you he definitely had a smirk on his face. 😂😂😂 Love him so much.
Oh he definetly knew what he was doing. When I walked in the room he was in the middle of the enclosure and ran out as soon as he saw me.
He like "surprise mf"
Reminds me of when i was a kid trying to swat flys but they were always too fast lol i understand though animals always wanna be a pain how dare you wanna put them in a safe cage lol
Lol smart little ones
respect on you taking care of your homies pets tho

Thank you everyone for commenting! I just wanted to clarify a few things here because of all the attention. Last year I started a reptile breeding and enclosure building business with one of my friends. However a month ago he had an unexpected cross country move leaving me with an additional 40 animals to take care of in the course of a single weekend. This happened right in the middle of university finals season along with the beginning of the landscaping season which is my main source of income. Luckily since this video was posted I was a vendor at a local reptile expo and was able to sell of many of the animals that were left with me. This will help take a load off of my plate and will allow for me to properly maintain my current collection.🙏
Dude I used to have that same blanket! It just brought so much nostalgia
I think I've had it since I was 8
Okay i have nothing against ur care for ur reptiles u have cool looking Enclosures but i could be wrong but it looks like u might be struggling to keep up with maintenance for every enclosure. Those glass stains really need to be cleaned its not terrible for the animal its self but if they were clean it would be more aesthetically pleasing to look at and would make ur tanks look alot nicer too. Again its just my theory by looking at ur tanks but if that is the case than slow down a bit. Allso about the leopard geckos i rlly dont like how you are keeping them. I know you said they will be kept there temporary but still it looks sad. im not saying you go buy 40 gal tanks for each and every one of them but what i would want you to do is place them in a bigger plastic containers and add in hides aswell a water dish. Atleast 3 hides . So while they are with you they dont have to live in those tiny plastic containers with nothing in them.
I've responded to a couple other comments on the leopard geckos but I 100% agree with you. I never wanted to have these leopard geckos but got stuck with them after my business partner bought them to sell at a reptile expo (we sold one) and then he moved cross country leaving them with me. Since this video I've sold half of them and should be selling the rest this weekend but have hated this whole experience.
Underrated channel!
Do you Cohab your cresties all year round?
I do, I've kept them apart before but I haven't seen much of a difference in behavior. Plus by cohabbing them I get surprise babies every once in a while.
Doesn't seem to be a single tank that isn't either dirty, inappropriate (too small, faulty equipment, no hides/ plants) and also at least one animal that has been taken from the wild to live in that. Please hand them to someone responsible and find a new hobby.
How slow are you? Read his reply's to other comments, he took on his partners collection doubling his collection in one weekend, fuck off and try to not be such a dick have a bad day😙
100% try down sizing. Every tank needs maintenance and you seem to be struggling at keeping up with that. It seems like you enjoy your animals, so don’t forget why you go into them.
I 100% percent agree, my business partner had a surprise cross country move last month and I took over everything that he wasn't able to sell literally doubling my collection in a single weekend. It was definitely a little overwhelming.
