Yeah I can imagine them being excellent runners like their MARTA cousins use to. Calculation wise we had up to 302 C40LF units back then: 2701-2818 were the 1996 units 2819-2900 were the 2000 units 2901-3002 were the 2001 units Out of all of them only three of them were retrofitted years and they were units 2800 and 2801 they became John Deere 6081H and units 2901 became Doosan GK12 each of them still sounded pretty great with their retrofit engines the fortunate news is that 2701 is currently enjoying it’s retirement at the Southeastern Railway Museum up in Duluth just 45 northeast from Atlanta

I don't think they have the ford b series anymore all I've seen them is in shops

@@8v71buses yea the only difference is the 757 has more of a bazzaw kind of sound more than a throaty C40LF, sorta like a sports car, especially the spool up it’s like an Orion v cng

Pretty much and they remind me more of the 2003 and ‘04 D40LFs from Philly that got retrofitted with those loud and awesome throaty ISL engines 😎

Yep I saw 730 roll by downtown yesterday. It runs and sounds much better with the ISL-G and B400R retrofit

Yet I bet. I still remember the first time I saw one of these on the 129 Chamblee/Dunwoody rollin back in early ‘01 I nearly lost my mind seeing a MARTA that short 😂. Then later I hear another one at takeoff and lost my mind again because I thought it’d sound like the C40LFs but it was rather high pitched instead 😵‍💫😳😂

Yep they sure do. The 2600s here in Sacramento also have the same exact powertrain as units 2396, 97 and 98 also to mention that the 2600s were also WMATA rejects and they’re still in service too because I see them all the time on the express routes in my neighborhood

2387 was the second to last but 2371 was the very last of them to retire

Not sure maybe that’s just the way they were made. The same way how the C40LFRs distinctively made those fart sounds that none of the other buses in the fleet made lol

Me too and the best part is that their still in service too. The first time I saw the 8000s here I thought they were ISM powered like the GRTA Xpress MCI units 5017-5048 but then I started listening to them closely and found out that these are ISL the EPA ‘07 versions

Oh yeah they been running in and out of Arts Center for years since GCT first started running back in Fall 2001. I remember it like it was yesterday when the NABI 40LFWs use to roar like champs and they ran the express routes only
