Sacramento Valley Live Steamers -- Riding George Potter's Pacific Coast #6 at Spring Meet 2022

Riding Pacific Coast #6 at the Sacramento Valley Live Steamers (SVLS). George Potter, from scratch, built a fantastic narrow gauge scale, 7 ½ inch real gauge Classic American 4-4-0. It was originally a wood burning engine but was given a propane conversion to run in Train Mountain. This was Colin's first time driving Pacific Coast #6 and he did a really good job. Great ride! Interesting to see how you fire with gas. The loco has a pretty good exhaust note to it, wish you would have taken a side shot of the power we rode on this trip! Ah, never mind I watched some of your other videos. This is a BIG American! 2.5" scale? Or larger?

FLYING SCOTSMAN 4472 was here in Green Bay Wisconsin at the NATIONAL RAILROAD MUSEUM in August 1970and going very slowly 🐌 North on the Original C&NW RR up to G.B. But with Enourmous Crowds on the tracks. Then it even slower went down the steep hill and sharp curves by the RED OWL Grocery Warehouse. When it was in the NRRM, 4472 was parked Directly in Front of U.P. 4017 BIGBOY 4-8-8-4!!!! Plus ➕ you have the photo 📸 showing them Together from the South side with the afternoon sun shining on them when parked on the Long east Display Track, but that was ripped off in 1987 when the NRRM was controlled by the Former Outside Management Group; who unfortunately had Scrapped and Destroyed some other trains with the Steam powered crane from the Appleton Paper MILL; and they Destroyed the Pickle car with 4 wooden vats; and they also Destroyed the 1934 Plymouth Center cab from Missouri. But 1 steamer was Sold to the well known Midwest collector, the 25 0-4-0T ALCO 1918 from the Menominee Sugar Company located Directly in Ashwaubenon, but very sadly the Outside Group REFUSED to keep loco 25!!! Then 25 was shipped to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for repairs because the Mr. Collector wanted to run a new Steam locomotives 🚂 excursion; yet 😔 sadly cancelled; thus 25 sat outside yet in separate pieces!!! Then around 1999 to 2000 the 25 loco was acquired by the farm show near Traverse City Michigan with farm Steam traction engines; plus ➕ also the home site of "LIVE STEAM " MAGAZINE; Thus Loco 25 was repaired by this antique farm group and 25 runs around their own loop of longer track; with videos of loco 25 running on YOU TUBE!! I hope and Pray 🙏 that can also meet!! And discuss the NRRM, because even though the different Outside Managers were fired 🔥 in 1986, they quickly returned after the Famous Founders died like late Mr. HAROLD E. FULLER in September 1987. Yet only the previous year in 1986 I was a Full time paid employee and Groundskeeper and the Official tour guide; plus ➕ we of the New Staff had switched together the steam locomotives 🚂 and coaches and freight cars into complete sets to represent actual trains: Like the 1920 Era PULLMAN EXPRESS with 5 Heavyweight Steel coaches like the R.P.O;, Baggage; diner; sleeper, obs for president and leading with steamer SOO LINE 2718 4-6-2 PACIFIC!! YET...in 1987 this Display train was uncoupled!!! And scattered Haphazardly all over the place!!!!! With 2718 and 7 steamers parked in the area of a new section of a round house but Never Built!!! But sadly 😔 tossed aside and left out for 14 Years!! Until 2001 when shoved into the large Red McCormick Pavillion and the far east end of track 3!!! Yet with a very confusing mix of random cars behind 2718 4-6-2, and repainted Black, but Missing the cab Number 2718, and the Famous logo of the Dollar 💵 Sign ($.L.) on the sides of the tender!!!!! Yet train Museums all over are suffering from lack of funds!! However by simply switching around the engines and cars will Vastly improve the main appearance!! The NRRM had its 65th Anniversary in 2021, yet there was 0 celebrations 🍾!!! Thus, WE ALL HOPE AND PRAY 🙏 TO GOD!!!, THAT THE NRRM WILL BE CHANGED FOR THE BETTER IN 2026 A.D. IN TIME FOR ITS 70TH ANNIVERSARY!!!! HOORAY!!!! GOD ✝️ BLESS 🙏 AMERICA 🇺🇸 ❤ 🙌! GLORY ALLELUIA 🥰 😇 🎼!!! AMEN 💒 🙏!!! WED. FEB.14, 2024A.D.!!!! HAPPY SAINT VALENTINE DAY 💝 ❤ 💖 ♥ 💕 💗 💝 ❤ 💖 ♥ 💕 💗 💝 ❤!!!!

Have a little charity. This young man is speaking to a steam legend, of course he's going to be nervous. Hell, I'm 70 and I'D probably be nervous! Let me pass a story on to you that once I read it I never forgot it. There was a veteran journalist (I forget his name, sorry!) who was telling the story of when as a reporter for his high school newspaper in the 1930's got the chance to interview a Union Army Civil War veteran who fought at the battle of Gettysburg AND was present several months later when Lincoln gave his Gettysburg Address. Needless to say he was quite nervous and the old vet saw he was. When he told the old man why (He was awestruck by him, obviously.) the old vet just smiled and said: "I know how you feel son, I know JUST how you feel. I felt the same way when I was your age and I met a man who'd been at the battle of Yorktown and had seen George Washington!"

I don't remember what specifically was damaged. All I remember is the conductor said that SR#3 was damaged and that it would be put out of service for the day. We traveled a short distance to the yard switch, SR#3 was disconnected from our train and replaced with SR Shay #2.

I've seen the Norfolk Southern Railroad Police actually ticket cars that would do that in front of excursion trains back when they had their steam program in the 80's and 90's. Most people don't know that railroad police have arrest powers.
