Impatient-ass driving on Convent Avenue, CCNY, Harlem NYC
Просмотров 977 лет назад
Convent Avenue at City College of New York in Harlem is part of my daily commute and I almost never have problems with other road users there. Today, however, this blue SUV was rushing around, squeezing super close past this cyclist and honking at a skateboarder just ahead before making a tight right turn in front of the skateboarder. Why all the drama? How many nanoseconds was saved by putting...
Kensico Dam Tour, June 26, 2016

Here are highlights of a group of three cycling from NYC to the Kensico Dam via the Bronx River Parkway and Greenway. The Bronx River Parkway was partially closed to motorized traffic as part of Westchester County, NY's Bicycle Sundays program. We took advantage of that and enjoyed the sights. Use your city! Stay spinning, stay fit and stay sane!
The High Bridge NYC Review!
Просмотров 11 тыс.8 лет назад
Welcome to the High Bridge in the City of New York - a 5 star park experience! The bridge is still fresh, only re-opened since June 2015. Go use this bridge! It's a park! It's got benches! It's got no motorized traffic! Ride your bike to work from Manhattan to the Bronx and vice versa! Walk, jog, run, play, relax, and/or enjoy the views! Only wish the bridge had slightly longer hours. Use your ...

Ignorant Double Parking, Doors and Close Pass = Manhattan Wildlife
Просмотров 1978 лет назад
Starting from W 151st Street through to W 157th (through the Harlem/ Washington Heights transition in Manhattan) going northbound on St. Nicholas Ave., which has a theoretical "bike lane." Check the ignant double parking out here, doors flying open whenevers, and a close passer driving hard through the opposite direction lane of traffic. This is why RIDE CENTRAL if there's double parking! Entit...
Casual Red Light Jumpin' Bronx USA

A very odd kind of creep into a left turn while light is red by NY DKC 7701 in a gray sedan. E 175th Street at Park Ave, Bronx, New York on the morning of March 17, 2016 around 7:50AM EDT. Drivers these days, yo!
When They Double Park, RIDE CENTRAL!

When there's double parking ahead, shoulder check behind, signal, and take the lane! RIDE CENTRAL! They double park HARD at PS 28 on W 155th St. and St. Nicholas Ave. at the Harlem/ Washington Heights border, Manhattan. Double parking is a fact of life in New York City. Take the center of the lane when you see it. Begin to merge at least a block ahead. Don't wait until you reach the bumper of t...
Close-Pass Cro-Magnon (and the Red Light Jumper of the Wild West Bronx)
Просмотров 468 лет назад
This minivan driver had pulled up behind and then beside me at the first junction (W 170th St. and Edward L Grant Hwy, Bronx, New York) so he was overtaking by creeping up, which occurred before the start. Then, in the slick rain and with reckless speed, you see what happens. And he gets absolutely nowhere by doing so. I pass him cleanly and safely as he gets trapped behind other vehicles. Then...
The Honky Tonk Asshat
Просмотров 398 лет назад
Close pass asshat driver wanna honk for no reason to gain absolutely no advantage passing on a narrow-ass street and blowing stop signs to endanger other road users. Cyclists, don't be berated by these fools. Let them get doored and cause accidents if they want to speed down side streets in the urban jungle in the delusion they might gain a nanosecond's advantage rather than simply being a litt...
Xtracycle Edgerunner Review (2014 Model)
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.8 лет назад
This is a 2 year review of the 2014-model Xtracycle Edgerunner 27D long-tail cargo bicycle in the urban environment of New York City. In my usage it has been mostly a grocery bike and sometimes a snow bike, while I have intentions on using it also as a business bike (i.e. home-care therapist, etc.). This is all most able-bodied urbanites should ever need for inner-city logistics. No need for Fr...

Randall's Island Connector - Opening Day Inaugural Ride
All this needs is some ambient music and someone talking about the decline of the west and then you've got an Adam Curtis documentary
Good work bro. Keep doing what you're doing!
Fantastic results! Just saw your vids on feed and decided to look at your work. I’m looking for something similar to xf56 1.2 r lens, but wider. Would you say the APO ultron renders similarly?
Thanks for the comment! The Apo-ultron shots are from the start until 1:58 , after which the 56mm 1.2 R WR is used until the end. So you can judge which rendering you prefer if any, outside of focal length difference of course. I like both, though maybe part of me very slightly prefers the apo-ultron rendering, at least for shooting this setting. That lens is really interesting, a sleeper masterpiece. Very nice handling, small and light, all metal, I think excellent for film-making or manual focus stills shooting. For something that renders similarly to the 56mm but wider, the xf33mm f 1.4 lm r wr is a very good option. It's a wider aperture compared to the voigtlander, so has a softer defocused blur more in league with the 56mm, and of course is a fast linear-motor autofocus lens, which makes it focus smoother and faster than the 56mm (which doesn't use a linear motor). The apo-ultron is still smaller and lower profile than the xf33mm though, and I like its rendering a lot, especially when you don't need super out-of-focus backgrounds.
@@gothamparksxvx8763 Thank you for your response! I already have a 23 1.4 lmwr, so I want something different for 35(50mm equivalent) focal length this time if it makes sense. APO-ULTRON look fantastic! It has very impressive color rendering. Have you been able to put your hands on the new 27mm ULTRON for fuji? How do the APO ULTRON and ULTRON compare?
i'm def gonna walk this

now THE RIVERS: filtering the waters with watertreatment facilities at opening middle and joining or end would be a great act to do to see clear waters.
Great shots. Informative commentary!
the Bronx is beautiful this time of year
Thanks for info! Driving the Cross Bronx for 50 Years I always thought it was a RR bridge! Now I know
You missed a good section when you hopped on the pkwy
FASCINATING! THANKS for posting!!!
I love the highbridge..so peaceful
Great video. Awesome drone shots. I walked on the High Bridge when I was a kid in the 50s. I hope to walk over & fly my drone by it in May.

Yes excellent drone. Im from Brooklyn and I use it just because.
Thanks for this wonderful video.
That was pretty bad, in the wet too!
Inspiring review. I've been checking out the new folding cargo bike. Any thoughts on folding vs standard for urbanites?
Awesome drone shots! I keep forgetting that this is re-opened, I've wanted to walk over it forever... really wanted to do it when it was closed and there were no high fences along the bridge but never had the balls!
Instablaster...
Great video. I've been car free/cargo-biking since March 2016 and loving it! Thanks again for the informative video.
Phantom 4 drone??
Yup! Gotta fly it more though.
Great shots, informative commentary!
You could have got to Randall's from the FDR Drive
Nice video! The electrical valley.... I have to remind myself, "no trespassing," lol. Can't wait to ride out again.
Nice video man! It was great riding with you!
Thanks, man! You inspired me to up both my youtube game and my group-riding game! See you soon!
lovely! Have to admit, "this is a great bike for vegans" made me laugh. but of course it is!
+Pedal Papa Indeed, sir! Being vegan most of my life, I know we need fun and green solutions for porting epic hauls of bananas, rice and other produce. This is that solution (in addition to any other cargo bike or conventional bike with a basket or panniers)! Thanks for watching!
Flippin' hell. Pretty much demonstrates how useful that cycle lane is!
+sw19cam Indeed! It's like that most of the time, unfortunately.
Great review, honest and shows practical use in real situations. Well done for going the cargo bike way. Wishing you many more years of happy rolling!
+Roman Magula Thanks for watching! Just trying to spread the work that this is all you need in the big city! I'm hoping we can get some of those legendary London cycle highways over here in New York (we have some, but not nearly enough). Cheers!
