A pastel portrait I recently finished of a beautiful German Shepherd. Pastels are fun to work with even if they can be a little messy.
Wallter Payton & Matt Suhey-A Special Bond (Inside the NFL)

Chicago Bears Lateral Fail vs Tampa Bay-December 7, 1986
Просмотров 1292 года назад
The recent Raiders vs Patriots ending made me think of this play from the 1986 season, when the Bears' Todd Bell intercepted a Steve Young pass and then lateraled the ball to teammate Mike Richardson, who then lateraled again...oops! Not quite as dramatic as the recent Patriots' mess up (since the Bears were way ahead late in the game), but still pretty funny.
Joe Jackson's Jumpin' Jive-USA Network Night Flight 1981
Просмотров 17 тыс.2 года назад
This was recorded off of the USA Network's "Night Flight" TV show from 1981. Joe's jumpin' and jivin'! Video quality is not that great, but about what you'd expect for a VHS transfer off of a 40 year old cassette. Audio is pretty good, though.
Duane Allman Solo, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed - At Fillmore East

An incredible solo from the At Fillmore East album. I've been listening to this for 49 years now and it never gets old. Paired it with a drawing I did of Duane.

A Memorial Day tribute to my uncle, Howard Connor.
My buddies and I were at this concert. Good times.
Gesù e’un abisso di Luce e di Amore ed è impossibile non precipitarvi.
❤so beautiful
Lindley on viola.
Still listening to JJ almost weekly on my playlists.
I watch this AT LEAST 6 times a week. It never gets old. Absolutely fantastic. JJ and his band are so talented
Never saw him in concert. Wow! Stomping at the Savoy not on my copy!
They are all great musicians--- but Graham Maby is just off the scale! Brilliant bass playing!
As good as it gets - never heard anyone better
I had this on vinyl when it came out. I have good taste.😏
Can’t really be 43 years ago? Crazy. Timeless too.
We are as far from this video as they were from the original songs. 😮
Listening to these guys is like hearing the biggest, scariest and most beautiful train you ever heard coming down the tracks!
Thank you❤
Joe Jackson is a classically trained musician and I always loved how he could do one album and then do something completely different for the next album and it would always always be perfect! I am particularly fond of jumpin jive because I like that music. Big bands, swing, torch songs - so many people miss out because they only listen to the music from their particular generation nothing old nothing new. Joe Jackson even went on to do an Ellington album - exquisite music so many people missed out on. I hope Joe Jackson keeps making music forever it's always original and it's always incredible!
Thanks for posting this. Great stuff. So sad to see Walter Payton as a shadow of the tremendous athlete he was. Matt Suhey is a class act. (2:09 Is that Phil Collins introducing his son to WP?)
It is.
Thank you for finding this and posting. Love it. What a great performance.
This is fantastic. Have loved this album for years, great to see some video. Joe is perfect for fronting a tight ass band like this. And for some context, this was a serious left turn artistically at the time. NO ONE was doing swing in the early 80's (a few years before Brian Setzer and others brought it back).
YAY!!!!!!! One of my very fave albums of Joe's. Saw him in concert in '81 and I had the t shirt - Black with pink letters. Crestfallen when my boy friend put it near our camping fire and iburned it . I LOVE YOU JOE!!!! My fave musician of all time.
Thank you so much for posting this!!
I know My buddy and me ( is that proper grammar) saw JJ twice and I’d swear I saw this tour on the pier in NY Regardless just timeless music played by a fantastic musician
WOW Joe Jackson the master
SOOOOO glad I found this
Coltrane
Did they dub recorded tracks into this?
No, it's musicianship....tight band, great material
my gosh man thanks thanks alltime fave joe album sounds sweet man memories
Thanks a bunch.
genius always in a suit
excellent album by excellent JJ
This is amazing!!! Thanks for sharing
Absolutely amazing. I still have the LP and play it regularly. Together with big world my two favourite albums from him. very nice to see him perform it live. Thanks for sharing
Magnificent
This is awesome, love me some jumpin jive, one of my top 10 desert island records.
❤ sad but so true
This is sped up. It was bothering me so I played it on Spotify on the computer and on here on my phone simultaneously. This is sped up. I could hear it. I'm not crazy.
the whole layla album is sped up, and even eat a peach is a little bit sped up
@@roccomariani2829 no man, this particular recording is sped up vs the SAME recording from other sources
@@st3pp3nw0lf86 yeah you're right, but i like sped up solos/albums. Also listen to Fillmore West liz reed even better that this
@@roccomariani2829 how baked are you? This IS the live at Fillmore and and it is sped up like 5%
An extremely smart and brave record very well executed
27.1.24 just bought Jumpin jive on original vinyl
This is great! Just for kicks I wish Graham Maby had been on an upright bass, and I wish "How Long Must I Wait for You" had that drum solo that's on the album, when I play that album I can't wait for that drum solo lol.
👍🇦🇷
WTF? This has been uploaded for a year and only has 180 likes? What is the world coming to ...
I'm 64 years old, I've been listening to JJ since 1984 and I know 4 people who know who JJ is, sad
This Guy is an Amazing Musician. He goes from New wave pop to big band jazz to Classical and even prog. He should be in the Hall of Fame!
First time I was in Saudi Arabia in a cassette store where 90% cassettes were bootleg and there was a whole section of Joe Jackson and I really like the drive album and this is before day night came out incredible. I’ve seen him three times lives and never disappointed and my second favorite band is Steely Dan and he fucking covers wish I could see him again one more time before I die I would make it an even six times❤️🎼❤️🎼
The only Christmas song for a pagan heathen like me 😁
So sorry as this is not a solo but rather a fucking magnificent axe journey...
JJ has always been one of my top favs artists. So damned underrated . I’ve seen and bought most of his albums. I’ll always be a fan. ❤️
Any ideas bout who´s played with Joe on that tour?
Joe Jackson (voc) Graham Maby (b) Nick Weldon (p) Larry Tolfree (dr) Dave Bitelli (tenor sax, clarinet) Raul Oliviera (tp) Pete Thomas (alto sax)
@@garytube1955 Thanks! Also, can't resist saying, Graham Maby is a monster, a truly masterful musician. An inspiration to me, as a semi-professional bass player. The rest of the band ain't too shabby either ;-)
@@JohnWilliamsFromBluff Maby is amazing yes
Pete Thomas is a terrific saxist and stalwart of the UK scene@@garytube1955
Awesome.
Saw Joe in the early 90’s and he sort of harangued the audience the whole show, just like here. Great musician but a bit of a douche. Love that this show’s been posted though! His band’s tighter than a nuns butthole.
As big a fan as I've always been of Joe's, I can never figure out how this album & tour succeeded. He wasn't taking care of his voice yet then & it showed, bands based on good looks existed, this had no possibility of a guitar solo & this never got air play. I'm not just shrugging, it's more of a slack-jawed disbelief. This music was not in demand, yet here it all is.
After hearing it hundreds of times maybe more over the last 50 years and it is still awesome.
Yes indeed
I saw Joe Jackson in 1980 at Great Adventure in NJ he played two shows that night thanks to a season pass way before they added a separate admission. He was as great I’ve probably seen him at least 75 times I love his stuff all of it Thanks
J'adore Jumpin' Jive et tout de joe et ces musicos
