Love to see Agricola getting some deserved recognition compared to Caverna. Caverna is also great but so many wrongfully think it’s just a straight improvement to Agricola, but I really disagree.

totally agree on splendor. century golem or spice road significantly better but similar mechanics. disagree on through the ages, although ive only played the app but I can play a 3 person game against 2 computers in just under 30 minutes (although your argument is understandable since it was in top #5). underrated as far as BGG ranking, I would put puerto rico, lords of waterdeep, isle of cats, parks, maybe everdell. when it comes to overall popularity, thats a whole different ballgame as a lot of mass market games which are absolute garbage but immensely popular would be part of the list: monopoly, uno, candy land (was shocked and disappointed at seeing two adults play this at a board game store), risk, candy land. overall popularity of designer games, catan would be #1. Catan's placement in 500 range on bgg I think is about where it should be, but its still immensely popular

Hexplore It, and specifically entry 4: The Domain of Mirza Noctis, has very quickly become one of my favorite adventure games. Leveling up, exploring the lands, exploring dungeons, huuuge variety of contextual random events, good stuff. Only problem is actually keeping track of the abundance of systems, late game it can feel like a lot

Gosh I got eldritch horror back in October I think, and I just now found out about Arkham horror second edition. Seriously every mechanic they changed for eldritch horror, looks to be a worse mechanic than what it was in 2nd edition. I'm so happy Im picking up second edition soon.

The card-based combat is dumb. Should be reserved for a boss battle. AND, after resolving the time-consuming combat, the victorious player gets ZERO treasure.

Thanks for sharing! There's always going to be a subjective factor in such lists.. Yet thinking "hey, I agree/disagree with that" is both fun and informative. So I agree with some and disagree with some (normal). I strongly disagree with T&E - it needs a bit of time, atmosphere and right people to fully blossom. I think it's a genius and atmospheric game. An abstract that simulates theme well!

Summoner Wars uses the LCG business model. Each deck is pre-made and unique to its faction. Even though it’s not Fantasy Flight, it’s an LCG through and through.

I’m looking to build a small collection of traditional/classic games, or sometimes they are called pub games. I’m thinking of games like chess, checkers backgammon, mancala, Chinese checkers etc. are you able to name a few more games that are similar to those?

Great play through.. some things You forgot to take a rune, in rotating room you should not draw a dungeon card, in combat you do not discard your hand but draw up to 5 or 6 for your hero. When you draw a portcullis you enter without rolling strength only exiting through one do you need to test strength. You do not discard determination tokens unless you use them.

7 wonders is the most over rated board game - The iconography and game play is quite complicated for beginners - Drafting for beginners when they can barely understand the more complicated game play and iconography is crazy. yet the game has no depth . Nor is there much strategy. so there is not enough depth and strategy for folks who like the heavier games.

Hello, I found your channel today. Great content! My thoughts: Through the Ages is underrated 😅 Blood Rage is pretty fun, but I agree about it suffering from imbalances. A bit overrated. Gloomhaven (whichever one) I totally agree: overrated games. Sagrada bores me to dead. Star Realms is a fun duel, a fast paced deck building, maybe a bit overrated. T&E is a great game. If it were in the top 10 I'd say it is overrated. Splendor bored me so much that I sold it almost immediately after buying it. Steam is one of the most underrated games of all time according to my playing group. A masterpiece! (We play only with the "advanced" rules.) Exit games are, generally speaking, very overrated. 7th Continent is the only one I haven0t played.

I have seen many comments online about Arkham Horror and Elder Signs being really good solo games so I wanted to try. The library did not have Arkham so I borrowed Elder Sign, I am just about to play it, thank you for the walk through it is very helpful.

'Notre Dame' is pronounced 'Notra Dam' just about everywhere but in the US.

And there are games that you love that I don't. I don't get the whole "overrated". It's just taste.
