Brilliant, Thanks
I found placing the door in front of the opening with a 2-inch or so gap for airflow and vents open helps get it preheated faster. But yes it’s much larger than my Ooni I’m used to, which could preheat to 800 in 15 minutes.
C'est une très belle vidéo.
Merci. C’est pas très droit mais ça donne une idée du marché. :) je ne voulais pas que l’on me voit filmer
I bought the steam injector and the Dome door but don't know how to bake bread by using the Dome oven. Could you show us how to cook bread by Dome oven please. Thanks
To be honest I don’t think this oven is up to the task. It has no thermal mass. So I added firebrick to help now. It’s slightly better. But the temperature drops down far too quickly even with a heavy insulated home made door. Better than the Gozney one. There is now a recipe on Gozney website. But until I see the result second by second on a video from Gozney I will doubt it’s possible to make the perfect bread. Gozney have kept the bread recipe quiet for well over a year because they could not find the correct procedure. I’ve tried the steam injector but you have to close the lid very tight or it doesn’t work properly at all. And then to open it again its very difficult. My cork has chipped already trying to open it. Stick to pizza. Until I’m proven wrong and hope i will be I don’t think this oven is up to the bread baking task unfortunately. The bread in this video eventually burnt on a low flame. :(
you aren’t supposed to use the metal grate on the gas side, it can torch the infighter and thermocouple.
Gozney has not been designed for bread. Maybe using a dutch oven to seal the bread instead
That’s not what they advertised when they sold it a year ago. They had a video of a nice sourdough bread coming out of the oven in their video. Totally false advertising. I have told them and they said they are still working on a recipe? This bread I show in the my video I’ve managed to cook up till then and then it burnt and didn’t really cook inside nicely Basically the bread shown in their video had obviously not been cooked in it in the first place. Unless they do like me in 2 stages. Take out. Re heat oven turn off flame and put bread back in. Not great. Yes a Dutch oven perhaps. But that is not the real point wouldnt you agree?
Thank you for documenting your experience the door is on sale , got that and the steam injector coming this week, I wonder if that’s why they pair it with their wood rack, that the died down fire of the wood will maintain the heat and the door to keep the heat in long enough to cook the bread? Please post if you have better luck I will try to circle back and post if it makes a difference. Have the Anova steam oven so we have our bread dough game on point be interesting to see what happened in the dome
How did it turn out?
Short answer: not great. Long answer: read below if you have time lol. It’s not great imo because the problem with the dome is it has no thermal mass and therefore does not retain heat. I have tried many times, you almost have to put the bread in at too high temp to expect any high residual temperature at the end of bake. (I never put the bread in with the flame on in theory. Thats not how you cook bread in a proper bread oven. You use residual heat from the mass)That initial high heat can burn. So I believe this one was at lower initial temp and once the temp dropped too low I removed the bread and refired up the oven and when it reach 240 again I put the bread in on a low flamme which I never do and obviously it burnt it. Just cannot have the flamme on at all and that makes sense unless one could really really turn it down maybe??. Gozney says they are trying to figure out how to cook bread in this oven even though it’s been advertised as a bread oven too. They don’t even have the secret. Bit disappointing really and obviously not an issue for them even though they have totally miss advertised in my opinion. But if it could make bread in this oven you would see bread videos out there but you don’t? Surely that says it all? They say they are waiting for the door to become available before they can experiment? But surely you have a mock up of the door seeing as you showed the video of it baking it in your advert?? It’s obviously possible up to a point like in my video but you have to bake twice and not turn flame on for second bake but that’s a lot of faff for a £1400 oven But as a pizza oven it’s great, no doubt but unfortunately I demolished my beautifully home made firebrick oven the buy the dome because it took too long to heat up and Dome was more efficient, but that was amazing at making bread, miss it. Anyway I hope I get proven wrong. I just bake bread in the home oven now
No Brasil se fala bem pouco dessa serra. Mas acho ela incrível.
what kind of cook times can you do? I'm interested in 70 seconds or around there with gas because I want to keep the oven cleaner and wood gets messier and builds a lot of soot.
Hi. 90 seconds on gas. Possibly get there quicker if you change the gas valve and produce more flames. There is the arch that’s available soon. That would possibly reduce times too. Since then I have left the oven on for longer as suggested and the results are good. I have other videos showing this. Cheers
It takes an hour to get to max temperature. We don't know how long you waited before you used your laser
yes That’s fair enough. around 45mins. they an hour from what I understand now. I’ve use it since and left it longer. it’s better. but doesn’t reach roccboxx temps
Place some wood into the Dome in addition to your gas, I reached temps of around 604 c
Cool thank you Simon. I’ve read about this but Gozney say not to use 2 fuel sources. But will give it a go. They also say it takes 55mins to get to 500. Not sure that’s true on single fuel. And using the arch reduces the pizza sizes. So might as well stick with the fab roccbox. Do you ever use gas on its own? How long does yours take to reach 500?
@@olpallix Hi, I’ve only used the Dome once to date due to poor weather conditions but I would agree that it takes around an hour to get up to full temperature, cooking with wood was great! Once it gets hot it easily holds temp around 500 c just on gas alone
@@simonbroad3914 Same here pretty crap cooking in winter outdoors. Thanks for the heads up. I’m in Uk 👍
If the saw lock buttons are not working, it will be caused by the saw plunge mechanism not fully returning to the unplunged position. Using a torx 15 bit remove the 5 screws holding grey saw blade cover plate. Then you will find undoubtedly a compressed wad of sawdust on the plunge mechanism. Remove this, give it a clean and replace the cover and the lock mechanism will work.
Perfect! That solved the problem! Thanks a lot for your comment.
Thank you. I would add though to remove the blade also after taking the cover off. Hold it with a vise grip as it probably won't lock. I didn't see the caked dust behind the blade the first time I tried to clean it out.
Ty so much. I would never reach that conclusion. 👍
MVP comment. Saved me from throwing my saw across the shop. Haha
And how! That was like an archeological dig with all the layers
My button just doesn't push down
I assume you need the turning peel
Hi. To be fair. I’ve been doing pizzas now for over a year now. These where some of my first. I’m getting there. But I would say you don’t need a turning peel in such a small oven. But some will say it loses temperature as you take it out. I don’t feel it’s an issue. Are you looking to buy an oven?
this vid is accurate. glad i can finally change my dang blade lol
Yeah I remember the Dewalt instructions being so pants that once I figured it out I had to do a vid. Glad it helps!! 👍👍
A few words with the video wouldn't have gone a miss, but still, it's correct and shows you what to do. Answering a question below, to stop the blade spinning, after rotating the lever 1/4 turn clockwise, you then hold it down to stop the blade. As soon as you stop holding it down, it comes up and the blade turns again.
Fuck off
Mine will NOT work this way. I've tried it numerous times. After I press the lock button, the saw will not plunge; pressing the lock button on mine locks it from plunging. I can see the rod move out of the plunge groove. I may have a little bit different saw. Mine is definitely a DWS520.
Shame can’t help you as I do not have the saw anymore. Is it really dusty. Crusted with sawdust?
@@olpallix No. It's actually pretty clean. I bought it second hand; It plunged, ran strong and sounded good, had both the long and short track. I've tried looking at the parts breakdown but it is so exploded that I cannot tell what actually locks the blade. I CAN get the blade off if I clamp it with a pair of vise grips to hold it, but I really hate to do that. I'm considering taking it apart to have a look. Also, the riving knife has been removed, but I don't think that has anything to do with the blade lock. Thank you for the quick reply.
David Gagnon Shame the roving knife is out. I can moderata d why they do it. To plunge in the middle of a piece of would. But it will give you more kick back and burning in my opinion. If you do carry on using if like so I would make sure you have a firm grip on the saw. But I’m sure you know all this stuff already mate. Cheers. Enjoy woodworking!!!
@@olpallix Yes. I'm seriously considering replacing the removed parts to put the riving knife back on it. The sad part is, I'm in the U.S. The U.S sites that sell DeWalt parts are showing about 95% of the parts for this saw aew discontinued. I accidentally went to a site and found them all available except for the Hex Key wrench for the blade. It was a website in the UK! I don't understand that. Guess I might have to pay international shipping as well as get nicked one the exchange rate. :-(
Exactly the same issue here and I bought my saw second hand as well. Quick workaround: I dismantled the handle so the machanism for the lock doesn't work. After that this video works perfectly for me. Assembling the handle again and the problem is back. At least I can change my blade without using heavy tools or a vice.
I can say beyond doubt that this example works, and saved me from buying a new track saw. Many much thanks for this. And yes, the instructions in the manual may be one of the worst, if not THE worst I've ever seen for a power tool.
You are welcome. Yes I could not figure out the instructions either that’s why I posted this. Thank you for your positive comment glad it helped!!
Yes. The instructions might as well be printed in Klingon.
Had straight cut gears. Hense the noise. This bike has since been stolen in central London. Could be anywhere by now. If you have seen it around please contact me. At the time of theft it no longer had straight cut gears. So no longer has the whiney noise. Just 135
great job ! , can you tell me the configuration of the engine , thank u
Unfortunately I do not have the saw anymore so I cannot check for you. Or give you n idea on what is possibly wrong. Sorry hope you find a way
Mine doesn't seem to be locking in place to hold the blade still. Also it won't plunge below 20mm.
