NEW Project Update: Stepside Bed & Other Goods!
doesn't belltech have the same drop kit?
Yes, I believe they do
is there any difference between the spindles with the 07 classic and the 99-06 or same thing?
I believe they are the same
What song is that? 🔥🔥
What year is the Z71 valance from? That looks real clean.
It’s from a 2000-2006 Tahoe
So couldn't you just remove the OEM rear leaf lift blocks and then dial in the torsion bars?
Great job my friend
Thank you my friend!
@@DannyBuiltIt great video sir and how’s your truck coming along now ?
i just got all the hd parts but the part im struggling with is like aligning all the holes for the bolts. the two bolts that go on top go in perfect but then once i put in those brackets for the sides, it doesn’t align anymore and they don’t go w the holes. any idea on how to fix this?
Thanks for this video bro, I have a 06 gmc Sierra single cab awaiting to be dropped, I have all the parts for a 4/7 drop with bell tech street performance shocks all around although I’m not sure if I should do only a 2 inch drop in the front for now since I’m running 265/50/20, I’m worried if tires are to thick for the 4 inch drop if it might rub or if it’ll be alright. At the moment I’m not sure but I need to make a decision sooner or later haha
what welder did you use?
It was a harbor freight welder
I'm doing my 2005 2500 Hd 4x4 this coming weekend, and I have not found a video yet of it being done.... yay for being original...
Good luck on the build Man!
Have you switched out the torsion keys? I'm looking for a set for mine.
About to do this on mine! 1999, but it's 4 wheel drive. I'm converting it to all wheel drive. Great video bro! Thanks for posting
Nice man glad I was able to help! Good luck on the build!
if i wanna do the hd conversion am i gonna have to get a bumper for it as well? or can i just use the one i got rn
Hey man no you don’t need a new bumper, you can keep the one you have but you’d need to replace the original bumper pad for the HD one
where did he get ur headlights from? and when u cut the brackets an inch and a half how do u make it like that?
I got my headlights from eBay I have them in the description. You’d have to cut the brackets and weld them back on you can mark them pretty much anywhere as long as you measure and 1.5in lower and make the cut
Bro en tu taller pueden dropear mi troca?
Si se puede
@@DannyBuiltIt nomás dígame cómo bro como me contacto con ustedes ?
what brand drop spindles did u use
Hey man I’m not sure which brand he went with, I just offered to install them
Alignment issues?
No alignment issues for this small drop
@@DannyBuiltIthow many inches in the front can you drop until you start to have alignment issues
Hey does the bolts that sit on top of the bumper have to be modified in anyway or will they still fit?? because im doing the hd conversion but never see anyone mention it but to me it seems like they are too long
You can either buy some shorter bolts from the hardware store or bolt them down as much as the you can. I bolted mine down as much as I could and it’s holding great to this day
Do you like the mcgaughy as much as bell tech?
It depends on what kind of drop I think they’re both great brands i definitely do think they both benefit a lot from beltech drop shocks
Casper
🔥🔥 I like this one the best
What emblem did you use I was told OEM emblem won’t work
Hey man, I used an OEM emblem that I got from a junk yard it slapped right on
Drop a description of what you used for your drop.
I used beltech drop shocks all around and I used Mcgaughys 2/4 drop kit, it’s been holding up great
I want to do the opposite with mine. I got a 99’ with a center console and prefer the middle seat.
Nice man, definitely some downfalls with the center console but overall I’m loving mine
How many inches on the brackets bro
What year is the lower valance?
From a 03-06 Tahoe z71
@@DannyBuiltItis the hood stock ?
@@yngboat the hood is from an 99-03 HD Silverado
Smart Man!… Use the Pressure Washer but NEVER THE BRUSH!! 🪣🧽💯🙌🏽
Yessir 🤝🏽
Hey bro can you show me for alignment caster for those drop 🙏🏼
Good job bro it looks owsome!
Thank you man!
I want to swap backwards, you still got all the panels? I'll buy them off of you.
Sorry man, I sold them when I did the swap
@@DannyBuiltIt No problem. Good video! keep it up.
At what settings did you put your welding machine to bro?
I’m not exactly sure I turned the power up until I started hearing a good crisp weld
Why did the core support have to be cut?
To have extra clearance for the bumpers new position
Bro como consigo una defensa así ?
Tengo las páginas en el video de mi profil “99-02 HD Conversion”
Is the welding part easy for someone who’s never welded or is it recommended to get someone who knows how to weld do it bro
It was my first time welding and I felt like I did pretty good, however I did watch some videos and practice for a couple days with some scrap metal to get the hang of it a little. It’s still holding on strong till this day. I say give it a try if you already have a welding machine
@@DannyBuiltIt fs bro I appreciate it
Looks great !
Thanks for your support man!
little late to this vid but can i put an 06 center console with my 02 oem dash?
Hey man sorry for the late reply, I don’t think it would fit without the trim that comes with the center console I know either the driver side or passenger trim is shorter when installing the center console
for the hd bumper do you think it will fit a 1999 chevy? I clicked on the link and said it doesn’t fit on my vehicle do you think it will fit?
It’ll fit mine is a 1999 as well
Hey Danny, I got a 99 step side Chevy 1500 on some 22’s, what shocks did you get?
Hey man, I had gotten the beltech nitro shocks I’m not sure what the part number was but the truck rides pretty good on the bumpy roads
@@DannyBuiltIt I wanna get a 2/4 but i heard it’ll mess with the pinion angle, does ur truck have a wobble now when u go fast?
@@joshua-.-553 it does not, the kit I installed was already designed with the pinion angle in mind, I know some kits come with wedges you can install to correct the angle but so far this one has been performing great!
@@DannyBuiltIt thanks bro
Have to do the steering wheel with controls swap bro. I did it on my cateye and it looks great
I’ll have to look into that man 🤝🏽
Where are you located at I’m interested in do something like that to my truck,
Does it need that bracket for the center console to be installed?
You can install it without it but it’ll be loose, the bracket holds the front of the center console in place with the bolts
@@DannyBuiltIt ok thanks man 😎🤙🏼 awesome step side by the way I’m trying to find a clean bed for mine 🤔😏
@@DannyBuiltItWhat is that bracket called? Have been searching everywhere !!
@@dylcharbeneau28 hey man it’s referred to console bracket this is the po 15118821
The absolute best job on the matter on RUclips!
I’m glad I was able to help, good luck on the project 🤝🏽
Will the HD grill fit with the regular hood and regular bumper? Someo dude on Facebook marketplace is selling the grill
Hey! Sorry for the late response but no the hd grill is wider which is why it requires the bumper to be cut and welded at a lower position
@@DannyBuiltIt Thank you for reply bro thank you!!! I was always confused on that part. Appreciate it again!
you should do a floor shifter video
Sorry for the late response! But if I get the opportunity I will
Clean ass jale foo 😮💨😮💨😮💨
I appreciate the support my friend, sorry for the late response 🤝🏽
Good buddy
Glad I could help!
do you have to remove the bed to install?
Hey man you don’t have to, although it would give you a lot more space
Que parte de Ohio vives men yo vivo en Toledo 😂
Vivo en Columbus 🤙🏽
@@DannyBuiltIt cuando me ayudas a tumbar mi troca men aquí nadie quiere hacerlo
Was it one and one half that needs to be cut or is it one and one quarter?
Is that centor console from a suburban/tahoe? Byw i dont even have this era truck, still watch the whole thing lol
No c notch bro? I seen ur lowering vid. How’s that holding up?
It’s holding up great man, I don’t hit the frame c notch would be better for 5in drop or more
Looks great!!!! I’m on the opposite end of this… same color here on my short fleet side .. I got the old man look goin on … ( and I get a big kick out of showin it off) it has weatherTech mudflaps. 2023 silverado 17 in. Alloys .. ,,, looks so ripe for picking… it just turned over 30 k miles …always looking good when I take it out for the hand full of times per year… most those times I do get asked about do I want to sell it.. tell them how many miles it has. .. now what would you offer me?,,, I’m not serious and usually they are neither ,,,everyboy wants to steal it for under 10 k… in a way I bought it as a retirement hotrod that doesn’t get noticed. But I think it gets as notice. As a muscle car… bought it four years ago… and these trucks have just taken off… For the most part, I just like looking at in the garage .. My wife and I have two other full-size Chevys trucks .. it’s funny though when you’re in retirement, you hardly use one for the both of y’all,,, I live in Georgia and the underside is almost as nice as the top.( as rust belt native- left north east Ohio when I was 21 ,,, in ‘79.) I usually hand wash the under side .. take spair off ,, n detail all … Usually take pictures for when I do get serious abouts selling any of my vehicles… back in 2017 we sold another 2003 that we own for 14 years ….. it had 130 k miles on it when we got it ( must’ve been all freeway because it was only three years old) For $8000,,, when we sold it we we got $8000 for it,, we did put a new( not rebuilt ) GM transmission in about 50,000 miles before selling.. same engine though… Truck had 385,000 miles on it!!!! But with excellent maintenance the truck didn’t look like it had 30,000 miles in it… the buyer was a car nut, and he thought it was repainted… it had a 4.8 but his whole intention was to find a clean truck to put his 6.O in it !
Hey man sorry for my late response on this, I bet your trucks are clean! I’m glad you’re able to enjoy your rides!
