Actually 100% live! See, that's what humans sound like when they sing. Anyway, Jimmy Page was clearly the beating heart of both Led Zeppelin and the Yardbirds. A true master of the guitar.

Had absolutely no idea there was a pre zeppelin version . So cool that you can buy a VOS dragon telecaster from fender which came out a couple of years ago in limited edition

This song was successful with Led Zeppelin, but the interesting thing is that the song was not even from Yardbirds. It was from an American musician named Jake Holmes, who would have recorded it in 1967. Look for music video here with Jake.

Wow this absolutely is horrendous compared to just a year later. No I’m not a troll , I know Led Zeppelin and if you look at the danish tv show version just a year later it’s night and day . Page is incredible so is the band but man this singer is so ‘stiff ‘ it’s laughable and now I know why page quit and put zeppelin together . It ruined this song for me for a second . It’s absolutely my favorite zeppelin song off my favorite zeppelin album , their first ….. act like a cat lol ,,,,,, horrible

I was only about 2 when this was recorded. I'm just trying to put my mind back into that time and place when the rock landscape was still in it's primitive form. For the audience to see music like this must have been something really spectacular for some, but for others it must have sounded like it came from the chambers of Lucifer and scared them off into folk or country music!

and this is point when Jimmy outgrew the Yardbirds.

Led Zepp changed every word practically. They just stole the music. Half of their first album was not their songs.

But, i must say Jimmy played it the same way, just with different mates..😊

between this and LZ version is like comparing day to dark...😊

So much slower, psychedelic for the times and the "substances". It did fit the era but reworked for Zeppelin it became a whole other song for the classic rock era. Both versions are good considering 1 is psychedelic and one is hard classic rock.

I’m glad to see everybody talking about Jim. I love the part where the harmonica comes in and that drum pattern gin Jim kicks up with and then Paige comes in with a blast. I love the way they play the middle part in this version and you can talk about Keith singing, but he was an excellent harmonica player
