Hi, I’m Chriss, I’ve been travelling around south east Asia for the last ten years looking for all the tiny little places with great food that don’t have any marketing and are just for locals, some of them don’t even have a marker on google maps!
I’m new to RUclips so while the content might be very amateur, I promise the food is all the best places I find, you can also see the ones not quite good enough for here at @followthefarang on Instagram
Everything revolves around raising money for charities and you can find more information about that plus hundreds of recommendations in many cities (not just south east Asia) at followthefarang.com/news

Probably my favourite in London, they only open from 11-2.30 but they constantly bake fresh banh mi every hour so you’ll always get it oven fresh, Jasmine is very proud of her bread and rightly so, I’ve not had better outside of Vietnam

Well all know why the old folks goes to Bangkok. It’s normally for the rooster and cock.
I can confirm this is still open and the heaters are working.

New poll idea: Star of the show is... 1) Moo prov 2) Amira (correct answer)
1. Moo krob 2. Moo deng (poundshop edition)
Came for the food, stayed for the Amira content
She’s far easier on the eye than i am!
Is this still there
Yes
Had me craving for the rest of the trip! 🤤
which airport is it?
Heathrow, it’s in the title!
Thanks
Is there a Thai fried chicken stall in the food court?
There is but there is a better one if you go outside and walk down soi 22, the lady outside the Lawson supermarket is one of the best in Bangkok!
Thanks for the immigration tip, will be flying over there in 10 days. 👍
It really makes a big difference! Have a great trip!
Awesome, thanks!
I go to this place at least 3 times per week and it's always good! They are now also open in the evenings from 17:30 to around 19:30!
That’s awesome news! They really work hard to have the best freshest bread, i hope people will realise what a little gold mine they have here
👊
Very yummy

Do u live out there then how often are u out there? I go back next week can’t wait.
I spend the winter months travelling around South East Asia, Bangkok is my base, been doing it for almost 10 years now
@@followthefarang sounds good mate I’m 31 booked my first trip to Thailand this may for a month loved Bangkok and Pattaya… only reason I’m able to go back again so soon is because I won on the horses 4500 lol
@@followthefarang and I’m sure I’ll be going now twice a year for the rest of my life. A month each time. It’s all I can get off work. If I could find a way to live out there tho I would do.
You’ll find a way eventually, it seems like everybody that goes once seems to come back every year after that, and i don’t blame them!
@@followthefarang yeah it doesn’t make sense to go anywhere else to be honest mate I love the culture the food the women it has everything I want and will ever need. ❤️ it makes me laugh when guys my age and older are going to Spain and Egypt lmao 😂 why would u chose there over Thailand 🇹🇭 😂😂😂
HI there what about Vaccines for thiland
There are no vaccinations legally required to enter Thailand according to the Thai embassy, I’ve personally never had any apart from the COVID stuff which was more for the actual travelling on a plane legally than destination, check for mosquito presence in whichever areas you plan to travel as a safeguard and decide whether you’d feel more comfortable having a jab and wear repellant every day as an extra safety measure
That centre immigration is for VIPs only. I once paid for fast trak and was took there, tried again next trip and was told I couldn't go through so I used the 2nd immigration and the que was alot smaller. I use an E-sim , even easier than changing your sim at the airport. activate it on your phone soon as you land
There is a VIP fast trak but not the whole area, anybody can use the 2nd immigration area, it’s not just for VIP. As a wider traveler i use the Esim but also have 2 slots for SIM cards which are interchangeable, a lot of people don’t know about e sim so advice for SIM card is for a wider audience without being too technical
Love this video! Please do more in Bangkok. Maybe you could try a microphone to block out some of the background noise? I’ll try the doughnuts tonight!
I’ll be back soon and now have the dji osmo pocket 3 with mic so hopefully will be doing even better stuff!
I'm sure this is great for the lazy/dumb asses who didn't already know the immigration queue bypass loophole. But not so great for those, like your good self, who EARNED the knowledge the hard (or more astute) way. Now every man and his dog will know and we'll just end up with two equally lousy arrival experiences to choose from (or they'll shut the middle lane entirely).😒 A proverb concerning geese and golden eggs springs to mind.🤔 PLUS you just turned the MRT into Liverpool Street Station when the Hammer's have got a home fixture.😱 Good advice loses its potency with each retelling. Thanks for the pillow idea, at least (until EVEN THAT becomes a chargeable extra due to inevitable abuse and/or overuse). I kinda like your style (but the substance makes me nervous).🤣
Thanks for this. Gonna go back and watch heathrow as not flown from there before and likely to do next trip. Never bought a sim before I went through customs before. I assume they are same price as outside the customs? Useful to know if not. I always book an isle seat as I am a bit claustrophobic and being stuck by the window and even worse in the middle is my idea of torture. Id be a nightmare to sit next to if i was trapped in as it would make me want to get up all the time and ask people to move. At present i feel I need my luggage. I only take one checked bag but its a necessary evil. Useful tip on immigration. I've heard it before but have always sheeped a bit and gone in the first area. I'll walk past this time and hope for a quicker transition.
Heathrow has some interesting bits, I’ll probably do something for RUclips when I’m there next The sims are the same price but after customs and before you get your bags, it’s right by carousel 17 which is where you come out if you take the middle immigration i talked about, there’s no queue as everyone else is getting their bags first
Bore off, these type of videos have been done to death, you're not offering anything new. You get missed the boar, you won't get rich doing this kind of mundane crap.
Why are you making this video out in the noise? The only reason you should be outside is if you are going to show us something that is outdoors. If you are going to make an "information video" do it inside where it is quiet and we can hear you.
Thank you for the advice, as you can see I’m not very experienced in longer form videos in a RUclips format, feedback like this is very helpful for me as it’s difficult to improve if nobody tells you what you are doing wrong, thanks again!
@@followthefarangmate do what u wanna do! Looks like a lovely day! Why lock yourself in! You can’t please everyone
@kohtime yeah i really like sitting in the sun doing these videos, i don’t mind a bit of constructive criticism, there’s plenty of improvements that can be made, but i now have a new mic with noise cancelling etc so hopefully that will help with background noise
i’m guessing zopiclone is on prescription?
I think so yes, i usually pick up small amounts of medication whilst travelling, things like sleeping pills are around 10p each in the pharmacies. I wouldn’t imagine it’s too difficult to get one from a friend just to get you there then you can grab some for the way back and future long haul flights
@@followthefarang i tend to hit the thai pharmacies for all my needs for the year so i’ll look out for zopiclone. good vid by the way. i do all the things you advise lol. the other thing you can do with taxis is nip upstairs to departures. they’ve made it a lot harder to do but it’s possible
I just have a neck pillow and choose an aisle seat as I like to exercise every few hours, it’s very important for me, I’am a fit guy, but at 71 it’s vital to get blood circulation in the legs! There’s a fast track lane you can use once you’re old. Plus I always just have hand luggage, it’s liberating!
Wow that’s pretty impressive, i hope I’m still flying around at that age! Couldn’t agree more about the hand luggage!
@roygoad2870, I'm 74 and had some ankle swelling on the trip over. Compression socks took care of it on the way back, however. But I think I will take your advice and walk the isle once in a while on my next trip.
@@tomruth9487 i think it’s good advice as everyone’s experience and needs change over time, RUclips encourages a more general style when you start out so i really appreciate helpful advice in the comments
And money changing tips!
Keep changing at airport to minimum.
@PhilipMR223 yes i recommend changing a small amount before you go for taxis etc then changing cash at siam exchange near sukhumvit soi 18 for the best rate
Nice BKK immigration tip!
Saving 2 hours really makes a huge difference!
Do you think smoking has affected your tastebuds?
It’s possible to some degree but i feel like i can still taste everything im supposed to, the texture and quality play a big part too, the the hardest thing is being fair with flavours i don’t like, it can still be good, just not to my taste
How do you get a lighter through security ? 🤔
I just put it in the top of my bag with everything from my pockets, never been stopped, you can get one other side though
Shopping is 100% better there. Came back with pretty much a suitcase full of new clothes 🙃
Is there any at terminal 5?
I don’t think so, just 2 and possibly 4 still
Wish I saw this earlier 😢
At least you’ll know for next time!
Thanks for making these - going in March, are the posher/Michelin restaurants more dressy or formal? (and would you recommend them)
I’ve not had a problem with shorts and sneakers at any I’ve been too, the 3 most recent ones that were really very good were 80/20, Ore and Lahnyai, no dress code for any of them
What is the name of this market I didn’t catch it?
Klong toei market
Cheers mate
Can you tell location name?
It’s in the description
