88 Wheel Co Leo Lee Double Dragon 88mm Wheel Review for Long Distance Skating
88 Wheel Co just released their Leo Lee Double Dragon 88mm wheels, listed for 88 USD. With a triple “88” , are they better lucky (in an Asian 88 lucky kinda way) than “good” in terms of performance for long distance skating?
In this review, I’ll compare the Double Dragons against other high performing 90mm class wheels often used in LDP: the Boa hatchling, Pantheon Karmas, and Seismic Megawatts.

      @@krishnansrinivasan830 in my video there’s some wheel lift on the rear tail as my bushings were setup for Seismic Megawatts. It’s lifts especially when pumping at slower speeds, but I usually push up to a cruising speed then pump so it’s not much of an issue. Plus I was a little too lazy to change my bushings 😂

      My question too. If i remember right, Paul Kent used marine grease on his bearings to keep the wet out. Seems that this type of grease sticks to metal. Maybe some call it lithium grease. Myself, i use the deOxit brand of grease. Not sure if it works well tho, because i don't skate in the wet, much. My local shop (shoutout:Thanelife) recommended gbomb bearings (the cheaper steel ones will do). Apparently, these are pretty rust-resistant.

      @@tangohotellima1895 I’ve used the grease recommended by Paul, it’s easy to get on Amazon. Regardless of what manufacturer you get your bearings from, you will definitely face rust issues especially after a crazy wet skate.

    hi cool setup, I like it. Can you tell me which manufacturer or the name of the rear bracked is and where can I buy it? How much drop does the rear bracket have so that it fits perfectly in height to the crusader Front Truck. It would also be helpful to link the parts so that people can recreate the setup. greetings

      Hey the rear bracket is a 30cm 10 deg drop fork that you can get from LEPSK8. To match the crusader i use about 8mm of stacked risers for the truck + 3° dewedge on the deck.

      @distracted_diner-iq2gn 3 месяца назад

      @@luvinfunvan haha it probably won’t warrant a video on its own. Based on my tinkering, and some others , wider widths seem to allow a higher top speed for pumping, at the cost of ease. Of course I can compensate it with softer bushings. Personally my main concern is clearing the fork and board from wheelbite esp when RKP trucks place the axles a lot closer to the board than TKP trucks. Hope this helps 😂

    The Scythe has nos bushing boardside, wich means also that on rough bad roads you will feel more the vibrations. This is a strong point to take in consideration vs the MK space Truck. Another brand not being seen is EXILE. Why, has it is used a lot has a pumping truck, especially with Kore insert to avoid the spherical for king pin breaking ?

    • @LDPizza
      @LDPizza 4 месяца назад

      I thought that, but it isn't that bad compared to a "regular" rkp with a spherical in the hanger. Exiles are good, never tried mine with a kore insert in place of the spherical, I changed 2 kingpins in 2 years and never snapped one!
