How to Adjust Watering for Thriving Lime Trees: A Gardener's Guide
A common issue I encountered when growing a lime tree is overwatering. As you can see, the leaves at the top of the lime tree are a lovely, healthy green. However, as we move down, the leaves get increasingly yellow. Initially, I thought it was chlorosis, but after more investigation, my clients tree is getting overwatered.
They’d been filling Olla pots weekly, but citrus trees, including our lime tree, prefer not to be constantly wet. I suggested to fill the Olla pots about once a month now instead…
Also, Citrus trees need good airflow and don’t like their roots around the trunk to be covered with mulch or heavy moisture. Keeping this area exposed helps prevent issues.

Where did you get the pads?
What kind of primer did you use?
He’s like ‘you cheated me’ 😂
Cool looking dog.
Thank you😎
Are the pots more poris than other clay pots? No holes in the pots?
Miss Sara You are my wife's favorite DIYer! She is my gorgeous little Latina wife of 40 years, and she tells me all the time, "If Miss Sara can do it, so can I"! Will build our deck around the pool and poured the concrete path. Keep rocking it, young lady. We love your energy!
Wow, thank you so much! I'm so glad y'all enjoy the videos. What videos would you like to see next?
Looks like a species of tarantula hawk wasp (genus Pepsis)
Yes, I think it is🙌
❤❤❤❤
🙌
Its so toxic that even pinching the seed tightly with your fingers can cause a temporary numbness
Ohhh nooo 😱
The Aztecs used Datura as a painkiller in initiation rituals and as a narcotic for ritual sacrifices.
Woahh I didn't know that😱
@@sarabendrick1828 haha. do your homework sara!
@@RobertSlover haha well thanks for letting me know :)
Danger bug.
Definitely danger bug 😬
thats cool
Yes, I love it🙌
Tarantula hawk wasp! They have a painful sting, bit they're not particularly aggressive towards people on my experience. I love their halloweeny look!
They do have a halloweeny look🙌
Well that's a giant-ass wharsp.
It really is!🙌
Bonus fact: it has the 2nd most painful sting of any insect. They also seem to really love asclepias eriocarpa (wooly pod milkweed).
Woahhh I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing!
Tarantula wasp
Two words that DO NOT BELONG TOGETHER😢
They do not😬
Any wasp that hunts tarantulas, has my full respect and I’ll call it whatever it wants to be called
@@r.e.m2676 is that why they are called tarantula wasp ?
Have to grow them every year here in Kansas City!
Yes, they grow beautifully 🙌
Careful when cooking with rocks. They can explode from the steam inside them.
Thanks for the tip!
Cool looking trees
Yes😎
Such a BEAUTY & shed 1:48 GREAT SHOT !
Thanks!
Awesome!
Thank you!
Where are finding this cool stuff? Never heard of it here in Kansas City. Cool !
It’s a brand new product and just hit the market. Historically there’s been similar systems that people used on rooftops, but this one is designed specifically for ground contact. You should be able to order it from any big box store also some local lumber yards might have some too. I’m assuming they probably need to order it in tho :)
Soil and Gravel are NOT stable surfaces due to water erosion being high and water retention in shade creating standing water. You will have to level the area for safety.
Yes, it might not be suitable for some folks but for others who don’t have issues with water runoff and have stable soils it should be just fine :) it is important however to have positive drainage would not recommend an area that collects water. Knowing your soil is helpful as well. And this area and Southern California the dirt is rockhard lots of rocks and sand. Well drained stuff here :)
Hi! I like these-is there a certain distance apart the pedestals are supposed to be (on one side, for instance)? Without having researched it, I’m curious in order to figure out how many would be needed. They actually are not a bad price from what I saw on Home Depot. 👍🏻
It’s going to recommend 16 inches on center which is the standard joist space :) we will do 12 inches on center if you want to be extra ;-) Happy to help you figure it out if you have a space
What sort of irrigation is best for this sod?
Wow amazing grass and tits! Thank you for the Cali love!
I like the idea of this but I have kids and would want to keep a shorter height. It seems like this grass blend wouldn’t be the best fit for my use case. Would you agree?

Ya I'm sentiment to the nightshades but I grow this plant I have a purple one it's so beautiful ❤
They are beautiful😍😍
I like prefabs more cause its quicker and less work 😂
Yes, prefabs for the win 🙌
❤❤❤❤you’re so beautiful and amazing Sara! Love ya tons
Thank you!!
Hey Sara, I just had a 54’ long and 18” high board formed concrete wall put in and it looked great until two big cracks showed up 2 days later. There were no control joints put in... would you have put them in?
Over 54’ yes an expansion joint or control joint would have been recommended. Also I’d make sure there was a good compacted base.
My wife loves your designs. I am now a fan. Keep up the wonderful work and ideas!
Awesome! Thank you!
I could listen to you talk about concrete all day...haha....such a positive person.....your knowledge of blue-collar work is very attractive...
Thanks 👍
Hey we saw you on the recent VOX video on water conservation and front lawns! Great job! You were great!
Awesome! Thank you!
Miss your show on HGTV.
🙌🙌🙌
Thanks for the tip.
Happy to help :)
