Both takes are cool but I do not like that in both Jud and Louis's friendship seems tight and forced. In the book, Louis considers Jud his best friend (even going as far as saying that Jud was the man who should have been his father). Their friendship was fast and incredibly solid. On the 1989 version, they seem friendly but like they are trying to seem like friends. In the 2019 one, Jud seems to have struck a friendship with Ellie and he just talks to Louis and Rachel every now and then. Kind of sad. Also in Bloodlines, young Jud Crandall is one stone fox!
