I recently published a video about a Workbee conversion for edge carving. One of the items I developed for the new system was a remote that mimics the web page control software.
This may be of interest to some especially as it is relatively easy to build and very different from other devices.

Edge Carve MK1
Просмотров 21921 час назад
Modified Workbee 750 to carve on edges of boards and items too deep for the Z axis range. The mod also enables carving on a bevelled edge. The system uses sensors and a motorised levelling system to ensure carving is consistent across the full (800mm) range. The machine is now in operation with: Heartwood of Bridgnorth who are developing a range of carved items to make use of the new functions....

Polar bears off the coast of Greenland, not much action but worth a look just to see bears in their natural habitat.. Updated video from 2004, upscaled to HD from SD and stabilised.

Prusa bed level using printed thumbwheels
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.4 года назад
Another solution to the problem of levelling the heated bed on a Prusa Mk3. This is simple to install and adjust with the added bonus of being able to remove the bed without disturbing the level settings. A few new parts are required but they are cheap and available on eBay etc. I will add a link to the stl. Stl for thumbwheel: www.thingiverse.com/thing:4335944

My first sighting of polar bears in the Arctic. A long way in the distance but still a magical moment.
The Stoats

I used to have a croft in the Highlands of Scotland. These four stoats were just by my door so I sat down and recorded them. They were only a couple of feet away.

It's a great design.
Do you make the files open source available?
Which files ?
Unbelievable; Such incredible animals. We got to respect them at any cost.
Is this bed leveling method suitable for prusa mini?
Sorry I don't have a mini but if the mounting is the same then it may be ok.
@@patcooper5859 Thanks, I've found a way to level it
And why can't the printer use PINDA to compensate for these violations?
The pinda is good but the less it has to compensate the better so should improve print quality.
This is sorta overkill and could be accidentally changed after you level your bed. Look up prusa nylock mod, while this one looks more robust I have a feeling the outcomes are going to take longer then a simple nylock mod
I appreciate there are other methods so use whatever takes your fancy.
started with 1.299 bed variance. gone down to 0.136. hope it will hold there. by the way I now know why you should not over tighten standoff's. they break! and it's a hell to get theme out. it looks like the only way is to drill 2.5 mill and have a theadmaker to get it ok again. brass is fortunately soft to drill out. I used 6mm screws and 8mm standoff. I think 10mm look so high. not sure if it was deliberate to have more distance to the plastic?
Sorry, forgot that I had posted this vid. Yes I used 10mm to get the wheels just a bit further from the plate. System has been solid for a couple of years now and I only recalibrated once. Z cal will fail but never needed it. Simple to use paper and lower/raise each Z by hand until level. Pinda takes care of the rest.
It’s sad great stuff but guy won’t relay to questions.
Forgot about the video....
good evening. great achievement. pity that the answers are not given on how to recalibrate following the higher level ... I am stuck there like my colleague from above. can you give us the procedure to follow. thank you in advance. cordially. patrick

Hello Pat. Have followed your guide, but as the standoffs are higher than the Prusa spacers therefore raising the bed. the printer cannot do a Z calibration. I guess this is due to PINDA seing the plate before it expected? What can be done to change this? as it will not allow a mesh measure before the Z i calibrated.
Good evening. Did you get an answer?

nice video. my question is: where can I see the bed level correction values? My printer is standard with no mods. Thanks
you will need software to see the bed leveling status. octoprint with a bed visualizer will do
I really like this idea, thanks for sharing.
