Autism Cape Town visits with Padstal, Living Colour, owner Darling. Scenic View, Tasty Healthy Food
I have no experience with Ritalin but I have did have a mind altering experience with a space cake of sorts where the effect would only come up slightly before falling asleep. Somehow then, I exactly followed a routine I came up with as a kid where I would move each and every articulation of my body to help me sleep. I then realized that this sequence was deeply engraved in my brain and was readily available if I was in the right state of mind.
Maybe I can learn this
Autistic people have a resistance to the slave mind.
Probably
Out of all the women I have met you are the one I wanted to spend my life with. Other women in my life are nothing on my radar BUT YOU are my whole world!
Ok
Autistic people can and do understand jokes and culture
Ok
Best swearing in the history of RUclips!
Haha
@1:10:55 - why are you so fixated on the name??? I mean his name is Zunaid - he could be white from Arabic peninsula. He could be muslim or maybe not...having a Muslim name doesn't mean he is a Muslim guy. Anybody of religion can be caucasian. Arabic is not a race.
even you give options, "white from Arabic peninsula. He could be muslim or maybe not." wanted to have clarity. i know all that u mention. i grew up in cape town, its uncommon for white people there to have arabic names. so was interested. the video is hours long yet all u focus on is this. i wonder who is fixated?
Danke für das Video, es war für mich eine wunderbare Zeit für mich in CT und allen seinen Plätzen, nun bin ich beruflich wieder in Europa.gruss UM
Bitte. Ich war ein wenig in Europa.
Never been to ZA. You have nice looking road signs.
You should!
@@autismcapetown alright!
Nobody knows what autism is, including psychologists, it's just a label. People like labels because they don't have to think too hard about anything.
Yet u know....
You disparaging tone when commenting on the artist's name and price of his work without even mentioning anything about the quality or your impression of the art itself, speaks volumes. He is a world renowned artist. Educate youeself a bit about him.
I am not Art critic and was curious about his name origin. because Junaid I know as Arabic and his surname I did not know as Arabic. I have many ancestors so curious about origins of others Nothing disparaging. That's just ur interpretation. Many times neurotypicals assign negative ideas to my way of trying to investigate and communicate. Also never heard of him and just wanted some details. There is no hidden negative meaning. As to my opinion of paintings. It's got detail yet personally I don't like faces and portraits of famous people.
And the price was shocking because I was not even thinking a price initially. Thought it was enlarged computer printouts of Ai pictures. So maybe u picked the shock up that it was paintings and so much. Then his mixed name intrueged me. What do u mean by disparaging. Very curious as to what volumes u think it speaks to. Would be another interesting point how people Missread my autistic mind again. Watch my videos. This happens alot.
That video of the time in that shop is unedited. It's exactly how long I spent in there. And after I also told my wife about the name I found interesting. As to art. My uncles and daughter paints and even sold stuff. Personally not my thing yet I know it requires effort and as said his detail is good to me. Since Initially it looked like enlarged computer printouts.
He is autistic/Aspie maybe.
That's always annoyed me too. If I answer honestly they'll probably run for the hills. They're usually not in the least interested in how I am!
Exactly, annoying to answer, and people just respond robotically to how u
No point answering
@@autismcapetown and yet we must.
Wow I wouldn't even know where to start! I'd probably walk out in confusion. I hate too many choices.
Yet it tastes good
"She (your Mum) went through a similar thing when she was a kid." Ahhhh. Your autism comes from somewhere. Is your Mum neurodiverse do you think?
My caused trouble in school. not listening yet being a good student. Dont know if she was autistic. My dad had it in his family.
Neuro-typical: "You think outside the box." Neurodiverse: "What box?"
Yes. I don't even see the box
@@autismcapetown that's because there isn't one. It's an imaginary construct based on agreed-upon rules.
how boring is this?????????????????????????????waste of time
Everything is relative. I just wonder who forced u to waste your time?
I have far too much empathy, the only time I don’t is for people who commit heinous crimes and gets their karma . My empathy caused burnout because people couldn’t understand me for having empathy. It’s very very isolating .
Yes, that happens
Firstly, NO ONE is Neurotypical, because no one can be called 'typical' of anything, except by someone who is just plain discriminatory. Secondly, EVERYONE is neurodivergent, because everyone has a unique personal neural and psychological wiring. Thirdly, the term Autism is an IDENTITY, not a diagnosis. The term Autistic does not describe the specific issues of a specific person, and is not helpful in finding solutions to problematic behaviors, but identifying as 'autistic' seems to allow those who identify as such to not make any effort toward tackling their specific behavioral issues. The brain is 'plastic' and with the right activities and therapies, can grow in any direction that one might aspire to. I have been called 'autistic' by other people, and when I say I refuse to be labelled with that "autistic" identity label, as it says nothing about me, then I am suddenly called a "Neurotypical' for not going with their autistic label. I prefer to call myself Artistic, and to act respectfully and creatively, using my 'neurodivergency' as a source of creative action. 'Autistics' should try on this different mindset, and call themselves 'Artistic' and act accordingly, and see if that helps.
Okay
That's actually a good point. I see that in myself. When 'confronted' with a neurodivergent, I feel confused by what the person's needs are. The more I try to engage, the more confused I get. Eventually, I overload and I just ignore the person.
awareness might help

Thanks so soo much. Brought back so many good childhood memories. We stayed by my granny in 50 Trill rd when I was 6. Then in Bellevliet rd opposite Duke rd where you walked, (left d/storey house) when I started high school. I recognised the curvy rd. near Amazon bldg. where my late father worked at SAR at Electrical Running Sheds (in background). The swimming pool where I used to go swim as a child. The subway below railway lines, the library - spent many hours there and finally - Hawkes & Findley where I used to enjoy going to as a child with my father. It still exists. Looks very cold and wintery. From memory I think Capetown is the same latitude as Sydney, and they've had a rough winter. Even up here in subtropical Brissie, it's been unseasonably cold. I'm over it - my house is not set up for cold!

Yes, steel production is responsible for 8% of the world's emissions, and that is increasing exponentially. I was looking up Green Steel using electric- and hydrogen-burning kilns the other day. Around 30% of steel is fired using these means but it's ground to a halt at that because it requires billions of dollars in investment, especially in low-carbon hydrogen, and so far no one has an appetite for spending that kind of money. However I'm heartened by the memory of the catastrophic hole in the ozone layer, and how quickly that was (mostly) solved due to the unprecedented steps that world governments took to tackle the problem. Proves we can do it if we want to!
Exactly. The environmental cost should be in our minds
