This sound goes way back to very early Stones, England's Newest Hit Makers. And they cannibalize riffs from it on later albums. The connections explain why you instantly recognize their sound.

I have listened to the album since the late 90s… it is unique and sublime… transcendent, no matter what one’s spiritual inclination. Delightful to hear Gabriel’s process: creating a “palette never assembled before…” The singing is magnificent!

Brilliant album. Unlike anything I've ever heard. I did not like the movie too much but am pretty sure it would've been better if I had been stoned when watching it. Nevertheless, the Passion album is sonically mind blowing. If it did not win a Grammy it should've.
