We can go for sometime without vegetables not telling the truth there isn't enough for the country more on that they are very expensive here

Relax, di farmers that Botswana, their products are not even on the shelves to begin with. Say they achieve that, if the prices are higher than other brands, why should i, the customer be denied access to cheaper brands? The industry has to be built, I don't recognize it's existance right now. Local farmers has to face competition with international brands. Otherwise this babysitting is gonna explode horribly one day when we face internal issues with no access to international markets. ✌️

@kelebogileselabe that's why you need the government to intervene & regulate the prices, we can't continue without doing anything for ourselves, even apart from vegetables, We can't sit back & except the government to do everything for us, we do have to stand up work for our country as well How are we going to develop importing everything, including a toothpick? & creating jobs for other people in their countries with our money?

@@dips4679 regulating prices is a slippery slope the especially in a free market economy the moment you do that then others will ask for regulation of housing regulation of car prices the elimination of tariffs and tax on tech products and so on

We don't have time for that and we are renting thus making it difficult,all in all i don't have time to plant

Its been a year now since the ban,who is benefiting only a few. Who is suffering many people. Those who lived by selling vegies by the side of the streets no longer do that they are out of business. Motswana o ko gae wa sokola,merogo ya tura.... banning it completely was wreckless which describes the rule of Masisi bdp.wreckless. Since the ban what has improved.?nothing.

The ban of vegetables wa self centered, it was meant to push bdp corn artist to boost their vegetables sales nothing else

@@large23 you have very good points and on another day I would agree with you, but Botswana has a serious problem of food security and self sufficiency. I dont see how lifting the ban will improve that. What happens when a pandemic happens? We will sing "Truck drivers' lives matter again?" Do we really want our stomachs to be at the mercy of other people?
