The time is here! MLB All-star game is right around the corner. It's a star-studded matchup of the MLBs best athletes. Philadelphia Phillies lead the way with 8 players. However, there might not be a bigger story than rookie Paul Skenes from the Pittsburgh Pirates getting the start for the National League team. He's only the 5th rookies to start in an all-star game and fans from all over the world can't wait to see how he does. We also cover the Home Run Derby and give an update on the Denver Nuggets after their newest rookie, Daron Holmes tore his Achilles, taking him out for the season.

If OKC gets the #1 seed, Shai will win MVP because record matters. Props on noticing the falacy on the current Most Improved Leader.
I wonder how voters would vote if Nuggets are within a game or two of the Thunder even if they are the #1 seed. I would like to see the NBA figure out a little better way to do the NBA awards where most improved and/or 6th man is more accurate. I am not sure what they would/could do however.

We love comments because they bring up stuff we didn't really get a chance to talk about in the episode. The thing with SGA this year is his stats didn't really improve. He's averaging the same points, and one more assist and rebound. Everything else is pretty much the same. But OKC as a team has gotten a lot better. So if SGA wins MVP all because OKC is #1 then Jokic not winning last year is even worse. In the last few years MVP race has gone from who is the best player in the league, to who is the most popular and who the NBA wants recognize. That's just my opinion though.
@@DingersWithTheBoyz you are forgetting in the head to head match up Thunder beat the Nuggets 2 to 1 with Jokic. One of those a shot by Shai at the buzzer. The other Shai dropped 40 points in Denver. Hence, if they get 1 seed and Denver is 2 seed. SGA will win because he beat Jokic in Denver twice. SGA currently leads the league in steals and has improved in 3pt%. Jokic should have won last year, but the votes were tainted by Perkins statements.

Might be note worthy that this in-season tournament starts as the NBA starts to look at negotiations for its next media rights deal is coming up next year. I’d be interested to see the ratings results from these games. Also, all the courts are trash.

Denvers tournament jersey is so lame compared to almost all the others. Colorado has so much to offer for inspiration and they went with bland and boring. Everything about the tournament is so bold so they should have been adventurous.
