No hate though, of course. You will eventually get better and you’ll improve drastically the more you play, no matter how you learn. It’s just that some methods are quicker than others, and that I’d be way better if I actually started to learn bass properly, so don’t fall into the same pit I did.

On songs that should be played Fingerstyle yes. Picks generate a different sound that’s more “picky” per se, and lots of songs involve playing a Bass with a pick because of that. It entirely depends on the song.
