George is part of why. TV doesn’t work the same as books. 13+ seasons is too long for the expenses the show had and plus think about the actors as well.
Biggest mistake they ever made was trying to make this a show before the book had ended. George saw that and was like "YAY! NOW, I DON'T HAVE TO FINIISH THEM! I'LL LET THE BURDEN OF BLAME FALL ON SOMEONE ELSE!"
i just rewatched the whole of game of thrones again, and dreaded getting to the final season, jesus so stupid, 6 episodes, and all rushed, fuck D&D for messing up one of the greatest shows to come to TV its a masterpiece until the last two seasons, even though season 7 was decent but still weak compared to the previous seasons.
GRRM screwed D&D by not finishing the books, and D&D screwed us by not letting someone else finish the show. So really these 3 got bored of the story and said fuck this and fuck the fans
