Wow have you ever been to Wenatchee in the summer. It is unbearably hot there in the summer and pretty cold in winter. So what do you think about Port Townsend or Sequim? Either would be higher on my list than Wenatchee or Spokane.

I lived in Tacoma at 72nd Street East for 3 years in the 80s. I remember having fun at the Puyallup fair and working at Kidder Waterski in Auburn. Washington is a beautiful state.

If you want to get "life savings" ideas in retirement - listen to those for whom that market niche is "the cash cow". If they operate State Wide - even better. Realtors sell your present house without a hassle - they find and buy your "retirement" home out in the boonies. No stress will appeal to you. Once you realize who exiting Wenatchee or Chelan are, that none of your other friends care to visit you and that you spend twice as much for airconditioning than you spent for heating - your friends - the Realtors will be there for you again - moving you - where ever your heart desires - as long as you are physically and financially still able to move.

I have to agree about the medical care here. I was at St. P's a couple of weeks ago for surgery and I swear the nurses and such were just amazing. A surgery that years ago might have ended up with a week's stay in the hospital had me in and out in the same day, great surgeon, anesthesiologist and no complications of any kind. Impressive.

I avoid Olympia as much as Seattle. To many democraps.

I've visited twice in the past year by Amtrak from Portland and really enjoyed visiting. Great museums and food options. I also love the lightrail for getting around. I don't know if I'd want to live there though. great video!

Just curious but your thumbnail shows the Goldcrest neighborhood as one to keep away from, but then you never mention it in the video itself. So, is it or is it not a bad neighborhood? I ask because we're thinking of moving to the area next year and one of the houses we were looking at was near there, a bit closer to the Olympia Country Club area.

I live in a purple house in eastside oly. Our neighborhood is rad, supportive and I know my neighbors within a two block radius. Wow. Her calling out purple houses. Just whatever beige lover of homogenized America... NO we are artists, eclectic, writers, architects, accountants, retirees, renters, landlords and thinkers. How the EFF did she think we are one of the WORST neighborhoods. Do not, I repeat--DO NOT listen to her. I am born and raised here. Eastside is beautiful!

Lived there for years and the short summer is nice but rest of the year is RAIN!

We wanted to move to Washington or Oregon and retire there, but after watching a few videos we started having second thoughts. You never mentioned anything about the drug, crimes including property theft and homelessness which are very concerned now.

Thanks for making this clear and informative video. I bought a house on Bainbridge Island recently but am finding it's too remote for my lifestyle. The long slog from the island to Seatac can begin to take its toll. With Gig Harbor's easy access to Tacoma, it also allows opportunities for more of a social life. Gig Harbor is also a bit more affordable than Bainbridge overall. Love that it's much closer to Rainer NP for all those stunning hikes. Again, thanks - hope you decide to move there!
