Building a Pompeii Pizza Oven
Time lapse video of construction of our pizza oven. It is Pompeii style one. The oven is on steel / concrete "table". We used 300 fireclay bricks and lots of insulation. Many thanks to FornoBravo (community.fornobravo.com/) for some inspirations and basic size / construction ideas. It take about 2 hours to heat the oven up. And if the entrance is closed it maintains heat for 6-12 hours. So we are going to try to bake bread there. If there is enough interest, I'll make commented version of the video.
Dimensions:
1) inner diameter is 98cm (38"), including bricks 122cm, including insulation 132cm, including stucco ~136cm
2) inner height should be ~49cm (it is half sphere)
3) bricks are 25x12.5x...

We got the Lepin (Chinese LEGO) tank.. so here is the assembly and the first test. The model is good. The downside is that the RC does not have any regulation so the motors go either full throttle or no power. Also the motors are a bit weak. Model has problem to climb steeper slopes.

Some short tutorial of making a wind turbine from stuff bought at local hardware store. The cost is around $30. It works very nice and rotates even in light breeze. Initially, it was a "toy" for my son. He likes everything spinning. Especially large wind turbines - the three blades ones. So we had to have one in the garden :)

    very nice family project. wonder about the foam insulation directly beneath the fire brick and any concerns the foam will overheat when temps hit 500C?

      @shufla1287 Год назад

      Thanks Rich! However, it is not foam :).. It is special insulation which should withstand 1100 degrees C

    Beautiful project but a bit excessive on the bolts holding down the blades. You could use larger washers to stream line the fittings. Anything that would cause unnecessary turbulence get rid of it.

    Great Job! It seems that you have used a second kind of bricks for the dome. Do you know the size and Do you know how many pieces you need? Thank's a lot for sharing your experience.

    • @shufla1287
      @shufla1287 2 года назад

      Hi Sebastien.. I used all the same bricks. I just cut them in the middle for the dome. In total I used about 300 large bricks.

    Димњак не сме да буде у чврстој вези са малтером и бетоном зато што се он шири и скупља па онда РАСТУРА пећ. Он мора да буде у металној цеви у којој може да клизи горе -доле а и пар милиметара по ширини. Све је урађено изузетно осим тог пропуста кога сви праве.

    Did you not use any insulation below the fire brick floor.? Usually you make a form same size as your floor and fill with cement and vermiculite .

    • @shufla1287
      @shufla1287 3 года назад

      Yes I did. The grey plates are the insulation.. much better than cement and vermiculite.
