I remember that National Geographic cover. The lady with green eyes. They used that image forever to get more subscribers to the magazine. Must have made lots of money with it I watched someone go back to Afghanistan decades later and they managed to find her again. Using that picture. She was really young when that photo was taken, like 18 or something They interviewed her to learn more about her on the day that photo was taken. Pretty interesting. And sad that the magazine made so much money from her image and she got nothing and is struggling to survive, raising children. I feel like the subjects of the photos should be compensated Now they're using her again on the cover of a book.

I liked the first version. It reminded me of some other artist’s style - washed out colours etc , maybe Lapin 🤔 The second version is also lovely! I absolutely love adding shadows! I feel like they add sooo much to the painting. Love both versions 😊

6:40 die dame op de pier bij Scheveningen, is dat niet een Isaac Israëls uit de periode nadat hij met de Haagse School had gebroken? Van alle schilderijen op die muur vind ik dat schilderij het meest aansprekend.

A very nice sketch indeed. Edam cheeses look like cannon balls or bowling balls, I regularly buy half a edam cheese and it lasts a long time ;-) It also melts quite well, good for in tosties!
