Sorry to hear you are not well, it sounds like a nasty infection, just be careful what type of antibiotic they give you intravenously or in tablet form, I am now disabled because of 2 antibiotic tablets of Ciprofloxacin a type of Fluoroquinolone antibiotic that I took and I didn't actually have an infection. Wow they are the blessed days I am looking forward too - such interesting finds and history of variety !

Earlier this year I got permission from farmer Graham to visit the field opposite my house - i could watch the children in the garden whilst i went over with a metal detector and bag to go examine a strange bump in the field that has always intrigued me - I dont yet know how to use my camera but couldnt wait any longer for anyone to show me - my best metal finds were so big i saw them ahead of time and all the detector found was part of a tin - my eyes found some interesting stones all of the same family group as i now call them so i can recall them but quartz calcedony flint and i found something i was so hoping to find as i never heard of any from Essex - a small piece of agate and it has crystals too - I sadly had no idea what to look for in the flint usage and am so glad that i am learning to look better next year!

There is an amazing connection to our earth and history that we have been missing and its been so wonderful to find others who are sharing the adventure for the rest of us who are itching to get more involved ! Thank you for your explainations with your finds in a manner that the rest of us can learn by seeing and hearing all aspects

Do you ever wonder about our history and the time that poor people may have had to have kept old skills including knapping and use of hunting ? Some of the 'wars' between commoners not only using 'staffs and pitch forks'? What would Robin Hood have been using? I got a crazy mind that gets to see many other possibilities to what we are taught - hope you dont mind me voicing a few?

Lovely looking apples you have found there and the sheep would agree, we recently found an apple tree in a hedge row on a local permission and got a bag full, but when we mentioned it to the land owner she didn't even know there was a large apple tree, crazy really because years ago there were orchards everywhere and everyone picked them to eat or cook or drink, but those days have gone and people just want to buy them from the supermarket that have been imported half way round the World, how crazy is that. We went to Grimsthorpe castle in Lincolnshire a few years ago and scrumped quinces and apples. They have a superb apple orchard in a walled garden with dozens of rare Victorian apple varieties that we had never heard of and the flavour was superb, some of the best apples we have ever tasted and the really annoying thing is that they are not picked and used, they just drop on the floor and rot, or are scrapped away to the compost heap, that is such a wasteful thing to do. Wassail chaps 🙂🙂

I love hunting for flint. I used to take my kids out wen they was little they used to get so excited if they found a bit that looked like it had been worked. Cool vid as always thank you x

There's been some crazy dumping over the years in those woods, there is a bit of everything from 1600's to modern and it's everywhere, what a completely mad place. Nice Police hat badge, local Constabulary as well. All the best Wendy and Jon. 🙂🙂
