I have a friend who lived through a lot of tornado seasons, and he looks up at the clouds when we get bad weather and says "you never know when mother nature will release her fury on us."

I survived this exact tornado as a student at the University of Alabama. The accuracy of the aftermath was real. My experience was very much like this from start to end. Still lives with me to this day. Seeing the movie Twisters is one thing but living it is another. My last day of college.

I lived in Northport at that time, I remember this day vividly. My mom and I were the only ones home and we were hiding the best we could in the hall closet. James Spans voice, being the same as it had always been strong and steady kept my mom calm in turn kept me calm. We were lucky to have only had minor damage, but even to this day, the screaming of the winds, the darkness, the national weather service voice interrupting James Span, all of that is vivid in my mind.

I urge folks no matter where you live disaster can strike anywhere in any form..especially weather, why I urge folks to prepare for such events example me( tornado, floods, wild fire's and blizzards) talk to your neighbors...form a community preparedness group...you'll do good for your community and family, I been in service to my community for 20+ years now and helping my fellow Nebraskan in times of need hand in hand with our first responders...national guard and like minded citizens...please folks could save lives

I can't imagine how the meteorologist feel when there is so much loss of life. That burden should not on be on them, yet I know they take it so hard.

When I was in Tuscaloosa with my best we were both 6 years old eating lunch her , mom said we need to go into tornado shelters that was under ground! My mom called my best friends mom and asked we were okay and we didn’t know what was going on cause we were 6 years old! But we pray and our house was damaged! We were so grateful!

I live in Bennington Nebraska was hit by a tornado on Friday April 26th 2024

"I rode that storm holding onto this counter" It's been 5 years and thats still burned into my memory.

A lot of people say that Tornado Alley includes Alabama. Well, it doesn't. Alabama is in Dixie Alley, also known for tornadoes and some other severe weather including Hurricanes.

I dream of this exact tornado and I was never in it or even lived anywhere close to Alabama.

Very, very scary night, my dad was home with me and my two brother, he is a docter who works in Clarksville, and the tornado had just hit there and so he had to go in (obvi he wouldn’t leave us but the tornado wasn’t coming towards us) and we had to go down the street to my friends house. If I had only stayed at my house I would have been much safer. The tornado changed directions, heading strait for my neighborhood, and at least 5 houses down, the tornado tore up 10 houses, and a few boats. It then went over the lake, into another neighborhood, (we are shared neighborhoods) and tore up that one. Luckily we were safe, but it was still scary. (It did a lot of damage that to this day has not been fixed)
