    I just did this on a 3.6L.... no room on top side without scratching your arm up because of the intake and PCV hoses. Better to do it from the bottom. Mine was not clogged, unfortunately.

    Will this make it sound like there is water sloshing around in dash when driving or revving engine? I also have water on passenger side floorboard under my floor mat. Not on it. Cant see where its coming from

      @chrishenderson9411 so i took off the small line with a 90 degree angle only getting couple drips every 10 seconds or so when its off. If i start vehicle it drips about 6 or so times every 5 seconds i say. Constantly. Should it be dripping more than that? The boot/line wasnt clogged. Tried to shove something up the pastic part but didnt seem to change anything

    • @chrishenderson9411

      I would try to stick something into the tube that you pulled the 90 from. Maybe a long wire.

    2017 Chevrolet Equinox - 109,000 miles - the system just started to drip on the passenger and driver's side floor, thank goodness for Weather Tech. As soon as I ruled out coolant and knew the heater core was okay, I started thinking HVAC condensation. This video and a few others brought me to the understanding that this "is a thing" in several GM models. I was able to lay across the engine bay and reach down to remove the "pipe" shaped rubber assembly - 100% clogged - easy to pull off and push back on after cleaning - no need to remove engine cover or upper intake - great project - drip solved - LOTS of water gushed out as I first removed the clogged pipe - very satisfying.

  • @tstltstl

    The fan on my son's Equinox stopped working. We were about to replace the fan when we realized the fan was running.... while the car was OFF! Some reading suggested it was the resistor and not the fan. When I went to remove the old resistor, I saw there was water dripping from it and the carpet under the rubber floor mat was soaked. Not wanting to kill the new resistor, we searched and found your video. The 90 degree elbow wasn't quite as far down as it appeared and a lot of water came out after pulling it. Amazing that a tiny amount of debris clogging the elbow caused this! But, everything is good now for the cost of the resistor, which was $50. Wondering what it would have cost had we taken it to the dealer with the same issues!

    HI Chris. Hope you still are active on this channel. Growing up without a dad or brothers or uncles, these type of videos are so valuable to guys like me. I cannot thank you enough for posting it. My Chevy Equinox started leaking and I thought its root cause was something related to this causing the issue but your video confirmed it. After a week of hot weather here in NJ (meaning I ran the A/C a lot) how nice to wake up on Sunday,(today) decide to bring it to mechanic on Monday if I couldn't fix it, and to resolve it after watching your video. Thanks a million man!

    When you say you blew the tube out how exactly did you go about that? I have a air compressor and I also have a shop vac so wondering the best west to cleanout the line without damaging it.,

    • @chrishenderson9411
      @chrishenderson9411 4 года назад

      I literally blew the piece bout with my mouth, but you can put an air hose to the inside line and give it a puff of air and it should unplug if it's plugged in there.
