All the Samsung's Galaxy S6 Series uses a new UFS 2.0 FBGA95 memory chip, in place of the eMMC or eMCP chips used on earlier models. @samirgunic Год назад

      If it's Galaxy S10, you can forget the chip-off procedures in external chip readers like you see in this video. The chip is encrypted using hardware based encryption from the factory, and this has nothing to do with your boot PIN or your lock screen PIN. They are all encrypted, starting with Galaxy S7. This is true for all certified Android devices running Android 6.0 or newer. You need to repair the faulty board to have a chance at recovering lost data. A board swap may be just what you need if you don't know how to locate and fix the fault on the original board and you have no electronics repair guy that in your area that does advanced repairs. You need to ask yourself, how important is this data to you? If it's very important, and you're going to do this yourself, then don't gamble on what replacement board to get. Get the correct one. If it says G973U on the original, then get a replacement G973U. If it says G973F on the original, then get a replacement G973F. You say UFS seems to be OK. What does this mean? Is it OK or not? How have you assessed the state of it? What about other components? You need to be sure if you don't want to waste time and money on this. You could take a chance of course. Just be aware that you may fail. My advice would be to take the phone to really knows how to do advanced repairs, and not to someone who only does data rescue. No one is talking about this, but ever since Android 6.0 enforced encryption, the data rescue guys had to either accept defeat and go out of business or start doing board swaps instead. I am in the same situation as you are (were?), but my phone is a Galaxy S7. I have done extensive research on the topic and I am in the process of gathering all the necessary tools to do this myself. I have seen two different Galaxy S7 phones die three times. I have been let down by the repair guys two times. I sent the first one to one of these "pros" in a country in Europe, and he replaced the board, after consulting with me, because he told me the ROM chip was dead and the data cannot be rescued. It came back, with a new board and I had a working phone. That same phone died in less than a year, in the same way it died the first time with the original board. Then I had a second Galaxy S7 die in the very same way. I sent this one to another guy in Europe, one with very strong RUclips portfolio. He told me the same thing: dead ROM chip! I have seen the pattern! See, they will tell you it's dead because they can't be bothered to fix the faulty board, because they are in business to "rescue data" at extortionate prices. So they are not really in repair business. This is the unspoken secret! There are plenty of people lining up to have these guys magically rescue their data! People don't care much for their old devices. Data is what's most important. So most of the companies you find are doing data rescue and not "microelectronics" repairs like they say they do. Simply because it's more profitable to them than to do repair. And the steady flow of failing "smart" phones keeps them in business. Just don't mention Android 6.0 so you don't scare them off. They run away from those devices with their legs on their backs. They will come up with some excuse like "dead ROM". Without evidence or a written report of their diagnostics. They don't say it's encrypted. They say it's dead. So for the third time around I am going to do what needs to be done and I am going to do it myself, to both repair my phone and to rescue the data. If possible, of course. But I'll be the judge of that and I will take my chances. You know the saying, if you want something done correctly, you better do it yourself. I wish I could just pay someone to do this for me. I can confidently say I know what component is faulty. But sadly I don't know anyone within Europe that I can send the device to and be sure that he will get the job done. Most of them are running some kind of data rescue scheme. They're not going to put in more work than they need to in order to make a quick and large profit. For anything encrypted they will say it's beyond repair. Not because it's true and it can't be rescued, but because they can't rescue data without repairing the device first. So it's exactly the opposite. Also, as you browse and explore RUclips for tutorials and inspiration, keep in mind that you will only see success. You will not see their failures. Only successful repairs and successful data rescues are posted. Failure is where true learning happens.

At first I was worried that I left some of the chip on the motherboard, but nope, it's just a layer of the green stuff glued to the chip! • @samirgunic
      @samirgunic Год назад

      That's a UFS chip and Easy JTAG Plus from Z3X supports UFS chips, so that reader can read that type of chip. But it won't be able to see anything useful in your case, because the chip is encrypted from the factory. All certified Android devices running 6.0 or later versions of Android have encrypted storage chips out of the factory. For Samsung Galaxy phones, this starts with Galaxy S7. This video shows a chip-off procedure on a Galaxy S6 and you're asking for the same procedure on a Galaxy S20. It's not possible. Not on Galaxy S20. This is why FlashFixers only offers data rescue on devices like Galaxy S6 and others that run Android 5.1 or lower. It's stated on the website. Your best chance of recovering data is to repair the faulty board. I presume the phone is not powering on, and the battery is not faulty. You need to take it to an electronics repair guy that does level 3 board repairs.
