I tested this today (January 10th, 2025). It's been patched out. While you can still equip the Scratchcard and open it while you jump into the water, after you respawn on the dock, you are unable to move, nor switch out to another number on the hotbar. Alas.

MY buddy gets picked up when I try to do the swap to buddies to get more buddies method. Maybe that one got semi-patched with some interaction fixes in a recent patch, but otherwise the glitch still works.

I made an Autohotkey script to automate this entire process but after finishing the script I knew that would just ruin the fun of the game. I mainly just did it to prove to myself I could do it.

the fishing buddy dupe glitch seems to be patched in 1.10 as of today :( but the scratch tickets still work

or just use xenon at this point

I made an autohotkey script to automatically dupe and scratch the scratch offs. First make sure you run the game in windowed 640x480 (then close it and relaunch it so it opens in the top left side DONT MOVE THE WINDOW) empty your hotbar, place the scratch off in slot 1. F7 turns the script on and off (after it finishes its current scratch off) Script is below. it sucks that it removes the rod since it can be used for very bad things, i could see the devs leaving something like this in if it wasnt for that issue :(

Today the game updated so you can re-buy missing fishing rods

Guys, this still works on the latest patch, you just have to jump into the water, interact with the scratch card whilst mid-jump, and when you repsawn, *USE YOUR CURSOR* to select an empty slot or something similar.

Latest patch fixed this. After jumping in, you are locked to the item slot you had selected. It was fun while it lasted.

You could’ve tried to have gotten a spectral rod instead of resetting

You can technically use the metal detector to get enough money to buy the spectral rod but what if you deleted that too?

Im doing exactly what you are saying for the buddy glitch but for some reason its not working for me. What am i doing wrong?

losing your rod doesn't softlock the game. but if it wasn't for the spectral rod, it would *hardlock* your game.

Seems cool but fishing and selling the fish seems easier, faster, and more lucrative than glitching scratchers that have a low chance of winning.

If you use an auto clicker in the shop you can sell fish more than once. (You need enough fish for your game to lag to do it fast enough, though be careful it’s very easy to crash your game with this)

If you get softlocked and don't have 500 get some people to give you fish until you can get 500 then get spectral rod

If you do accidentally delete your fishing rod, if you have $500 on you. You can go get the spectral fishing rod since it's considered a whole other item.

the buddy one doesnt work for me... im using a golden ticket and place down a freshwater buddy, but it clears prop the moment i highlight over it?
