Findlater Castle is situated on the Moray Coast of Scotland between Cullen and Sandend. Access to the site is via unprotected paths which can be very slippery when wet. Take care if you try to access the site.

I wonder what consideration was give to the eco-system along the shore before the harbour was built? Looked like a mostly unspoilt area. You can't say that now. Still might be a good fishing spot in 20 years when its settled down.

They built the fcuking pyramids quicker than they've taken to build this harbour ........ AND NOW WE'RE INTO 2022, AND IT'S STILL NOT FINISHED. Used to play down there when I was a bairn ......... now it's gone.
Heartbreaking to watch have they have destroyed this beautiful area. I grew up over looking this view and has many walks here. I used to run around it in the early hours. There idea is to get cruise ships in lol. They built a sewage depot there and the smell is horrendous most days.

Remember going on a school nursery trip to that lighthouse in 1972’ish.
wrecking a beautyfull place in aberdeen, i have walked there a long the coastline and it was stunning every time, now no more😭

For a day like that, it was really thrilling to come along and see the turntable in action, especially as an early birthday gift. I definitely would love to come back here again some day

The Turntable is the original 70 foot (Ransome and Rapiers) item installed by the Caledonian Railway in 1908. All it needs now is a vacuum motor to assist the turning effort.

This is the original turntable that was installed n 1908 to replace a smaller one, elsewhere in the site
