Nice video... and great settings on your GoPro. Your HD looks as good as my 4K stuff. FWIW, that trail you guys ran was "Dropout" into lower Talladega. Excellent eye-opener for anyone going to Windrock for the first time. See you on the trail!

We kind of stumbled across it. Really neat area. As you continue on the trail, you can see it on the right with even more features if you go in the woods a little.

Great vid man! After you come off the last berm for Dropout does it get back on Talladega and then go to the bottom? That is the route I would probably take instead of the Freeride down to the Redbull drop. Please correct me if I'm wrong about the lower section of trail.
Yes it connects back to Talledega.

You need to try the other side of the mountain. Bootleggers and rattler are much much better
Hey congrats on not crashing like I did lol. Some of those burms are steep. You can tell the Windrock boys built this one. Before I knew they built it I was saying this was a windrock blue. The guys at the bottom confirmed this suspicion

Chris which trail do you take to get up to the top of it? I just started riding VH and have yet to figure out the up trails there. Great vid btw. Love it! Hope to see you up there sometime.
From the spot where you sign the waiver, get on TN trot and head clockwise. The trail head is to your left as you come across the bridge. Take Tennessee trot until you pass several of the downhill finish lines. You’ll go all the way to the back of the Hollow before you see the trailhead for Saddle Up on your left. It’s a long trail and it is grueling. About 3/4 of the way up you will see the start to white lightning and juice. Continue up the hill on your right to take you to the top of the mountain where the trail ends. From there you’ll see the trail heads for Bootleggers, 100 proof and rattler.
@@mtbknox Thank you for telling me! We tried to ride up there today. Sad thing is I couldnt make it up the climb. Bad heart and .... i'm actually scheduled for a heart cath next wed. lol. So the wife made us turn around after she saw me struggling. We just rode down at the skills area instead. I really appreciate you guiding me on how to get to the trail. Maybe soon I can hit it, but for now I'll stick to the lower area.

You think a slack, modern short travel bike would work here or need a long travel Enduro?
I guess it really depends. You would have a lot more fun with more travel on some of the rocky sections. But if you know what you’re doing you can get by with a short travel.
@@mtbknox thanks. I have both, but prefer riding the ST because it's newer and lighter.

It is in Townsend Tennessee right at the entrance of the great Smoky Mountains national Park. You park at the Burger master restaurant

Only 25 minutes away lol... waiting for my new bike to arrive in March and I can get to riding again! I miss it so much, it's been about 6 months or so since my old bike flew off a literal cliff lol stoked to get this new one.

I rode there today. Reading the replies and have to respond. I can’t find a RUclips video of anyone going fast enough to clear all of the jumps. You can ride it faster and make it more “advanced”. I understand their rating…ok it’s not a double black Diamond like you’ll find at a bike park but compared to all the dh trails at this trail system, it’s one of the more advanced runs. They rate the trails per trail system. So it’s not a double black compared to some gnar out west or anywhere but it’s one of the more advanced trails there if you ride it with the correct speed. Also if it’s labeled as a black or double black, it will make ppl more excited to come ride there and progress. The blues are way easier. Awesome trails and a HUGE thanks to the man who had the funds for this and everyone involved! Will be back.
Yes I agree, this place is awesome. Any comments about it being a black or not being a black definitely does not have anything to do with the quality of the trails. I had a blast there and every run is phenomenal! I’ve already been three times and plan on going back soon

I don’t remember going over to cottontail. We spent most of the day going down nutty buddy. Definitely gonna head back that way soon. I live in Knoxville so it’s not too far away

Hey Man, how hard was Bootlegger's Run at Vee Hollow?
It’s not very difficult. I don’t believe it’s a double black to Knoxville standards. If you can handle the rock runs at Baker you can handle this. It’s similar to the red trails at Windrock
@@mtbknox (Why would they make it a double black diamond for?) I can handle dirt, gravel, grassy and rocky trails. Bootleggers Run seems like a (Blue/Black trail in away.)
@@mtbknox I have not been to Windrock, yet.
Note the sign, it looks like the Double Black goes to the right at the beginning of the trail. We just rode there this last weekend (June 17, 23), my second time, first this summer. The leaves were gone as well as some of the dirt LOL. Trail was fast and fun! I'll post a video shortly.

I looks fun for a warn up, but dunno about this trail being any kind of black trail, let alone 2X black. I could clean that trail with my rigid fat bike.
