The Fleischer harpsichord was made in Hamburg by Carl Conrad Fleischer in the year 1716. Along with the famous 1674 painting showing Dieterich Buxtehude and Johann Adam Reincken, it is held in the collection of the Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte in the city where it was originally built. The instrument was restored in 2019 by Ulrich Weymar, whereby the original stringing was reconstructed according to indications given on the original ...

They really loved treble…. That’s one thing about many of these works they’re shrill to my ears. Thank god for the low pass filter! I mean incredible instrument and playing as well. It was just a shock after the previous piece.

The North Germans tried to emulate Froberger in many ways - composing canzonas, suites and toccatas for harpsichord as well as the organ. Although Froberger was never in Hamburg, his music was well-known there - not least because of Matthias Weckmann.

17th Century French Round Tail Harpsichord->Mietke->Fleischer->Hass. Fleischer first uses Tortoise Shell for keyboard, Hass follows expands the practice
There is a beautiful Hass clavichord in the same museum that also has tortoise shell sharps.
@@jubilatedomino6894 The 1740 H A Hass Harpsichord has tortoise shell naturals as does the Johann Hass Clavichord 1767 which also has tortoise shell and mother of pearl sharps.
