I too remember meeting Bob Lapoint at the Berkeley Park Marina as a teenager and skied that course in the mid 70's. After watching Bob take the record in Florida in 1976 with the new JOBE yellow Honeycomb ski I purchased that limited run signature ski with the Bob Lapoint name with record holder label on the ski. I still have that 65" ski that I took a couple of AAU wins hanging on my wall. Yeah, Bob was my hero. Great times to be young and alive that decade.
I met Kris at Diablo Ski Club in the Delta-near Bethel Island in '71. I was awe inspired and age 16, skiing out of Rio Vista. Used to watch him at Aquatic Park Berkeley Marina - Kris and Bobby were my heros for sure.

That is one of the most insightful slalom tips I've ever seen. I always knew that pulling too long would make me narrow.....but now I see why. Brilliant!
Great video. I wish I could afford the trip there. I recognize some of the skiers from tournaments in Ohio.. I would also bring my barefoot gear, kneeboard, and my trick ski..
