FULL AMA DABLAM Climb | 4K
New Danish record - youngest Dane to climb Ama Dablam (19 y/o).
Together with my father, we reached the summit at 06:13 on November 8th 2023.
I have filmed the entire expedition on my Gopro 11, and 8K Expeditions have provided the drone footage, which was taken by our team during the climb.

Well done and beautiful pictures but you never really climb , as the first climbers did on this mountain ; you just follow the ropes put in place by the real heroes of Himalaya : the Sherpas ! It's the same on all the hn peaks . If you have good legs and arms and of course enough money , you can try .It's not mountaineering anymore but commercial expeditions all inclusive !

I feel where Andre is coming from. however is when the unexpected happens that the experience of a proper alpinist will com into paly. in a perfect weather/physical condition/ knowledgable sherpas/good equipment theoretically many well acclimatized fit people could achieve an hymalaian ascent. But if any of the above changes slightly? and if your head start working against you? the mental toughness that is still required is enormous even with fixed ropes!
Brother if you think that you’re deluded. Ofc it’s not the same as back then, but to climb in the 80s 90s the death rates were insane. Someone I know just got back fro ama Dablam, just about. His Sherpa abandoned him and he almost died on the decent. These mountains are still brutal and are absolutely a mountaineering achievement to summit and make it home
Beyond incredible! Maybe is a dumb question, but how does Ama Dablam compare to K2 as far as overall difficulty and risk? Ama Dablam looks steeper to me. Anyway, great to see a fellow Dane conquer this!
Ama Dablan es mucho más técnica.
K2 has a 25% death to summit ratio. Ama Dablam around 0.5%.
But DTS ratio has little or nothing to do with technicality. At 8600 there will be a lot more complications with altitude than at 6800. Also K2 has higher avalanche risks since you are on the mountain for way longer.

When school bell rangs and I reach home with my bag, I use to feel the same level of adrenaline rush n satisfaction as these climbers felt at the top of mountain! 😂
Some of the rocks these climbers hold on to look everything but sturdy and steady.

was it ease to operate the GoPro while it was on your helmet?
@@audiosaurus6511 yes! No problems. Especially because I had thin gloves on. It becomes more difficult when you have thick summit gloves on. For example on Ama Dablam, which you also can see on my channel :)

@@fraudpolice4603 just a simple click on the recording Button, when I was taking a small break for my breath. I had the GoPro mounted on my helmet

What was the point of the rope -- looked rarely protected?
@@toddb20 we are attached to our partner, so if one falls, the other can swing it around a rock or jump to the other side, in order to catch each other. We also used it to take turns at rappelling down
