Its rediculous the way people assign meaning to a word so they can push a narrative. The word rib isn't insignificant and the word side isnt tremendously significant. The translation of the word has no affect on how i view or treat women.... this whole video is rediculous feminist propaganda.

Your interpretation has to be consistent with the writers message across the Books of Moses. You can’t just take one portion and interpret it in isolation

The word in Hebrew is mentioned twice once in plural "ribs" in the sentence saying "...taken one of his ribs" and them in singular as to what was done with it. It is correct that the word in Hebrew has several meanings but none of them fit the original Hebrew text. Oh, forgot to mention that is Hebrew is my native tongue.

I think you did an inadequate job with your explanation. You need to include why Adam went into a deep sleep. And then why God sealed up the surgery? with flesh. I’ve never run into a good interpretation of this situation. We need an explanation of the whole process, just talking about 1/3 of the process doesn’t do any good.

It appears that my comment didn't go through. This presentation is spot on and is very accurate. I have spent time studying the Hebrew text of this context and did a word study in Hebrew to understand contextually where this Hebrew word was used throughout the Hebrew Scriptures. This Hebrew word does not mean "Rib" as it has been heavily mistranslated. This Hebrew word literally means "Side", the idea of a "Rib" is non existent in this Hebrew word. When God created Eve He didn't remove a "Rib" from Adam, rather God took the entire side of Adam to create Eve. If one considers Genesis 1:26 and studies it from the Hebrew text something amazing is discovered. The Hebrew word translated as "Image" is in the masculine form. The Hebrew word "Likeness" is in the feminine form. When God created Adam, Adam possessed both genders, this gives greater evidence that Eve was literally created and separated by removing an entire side of Adam. I realize that this doesn't fall in line with Christian Orthodoxy and that many will object to what I typed. I am no stranger for ruffling feathers. But the Truth is the Truth, it doesn't change just because many reject as the Truth. This is why it is vitally important to study the Holy Scriptures from their original languages, to avoid the landmines of mistranslations which do exist. Additional benefits of studying the Holy Scriptures from It's original languages is that there is such a wealth of Truth one gains through the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts which English cannot fully express. I want to thank the author of this video for having the courage to share this Truth, you did an excellent job.

I've always understood rib. It is the rib that holds man upright. Making the scriptures explanation of a ( help mate) make sense. They become one, as does Christ with the Church.

Well done! The other big mistranslation is the word "Faith" which was mistramstated as a noun, which it is not. It is a verb meaning knowing it will occur, most similar to the word "Postulate" meaning self evident, axiomic. Farthing is knowing something will occur such as the second coming of Christ. Another dual meaning is "Coming together as one flesh" can either mean an equal union or One Flesh" being the children of the marriage. One is symbolic and the latter is inarguable as, of course the child IS the one flesh of the parents. Either do not conflict with the other and so can both be right, unlike the other 2 earlier examples covered here.

The problem with him was that his faith in God was not as strong as everyone thought. If you have your faith in the Lord, no woman can sway you because they might be in your heart but the one you worship is who you follow and it's a mistake many people make these days. Learn to love and worship God first, then relationships.
