Just heard this piece performed by the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet TONIGHT. Wanted to hear an orchestra do it. This is wonderful! What an amazing composer I have only just now heard about!

Once a concert warhorse, now completely forgotten, a real shame, transformed into movie or background music, so sad. 🤢

You have no idea how this should be played. You've destroyed what is a beautiful and elegant piece of music. Please look up any video of this paso doble played by a Spanish band and check what the right tempo should be. You make it sound like the clowns' number at a circus. It's horrifying how every band from the US believes that the louder and the faster, the better. I'm sure you have plenty of band music written by American composers (I mean by composers from the USA, because there are 34 more countries that could claim to be called American and you bigheads seem to ignore them) that, following what seems to be your awful musical tradition, is meant to be played fast and furious. Please play those pieces, since you may be good at it, and leave alone other types of music you understand nothing about.

Beautiful! I love that Florence Price's music is being performed so much these days. The college orchestra I play in performed it in our last concert. Her music really touches the heart. Also nice to see Detroit is still producing great musicians, as it did my late husband back in the 60s.
