He plays faster using his thumb than I do using a pick... Also, remember when he uses a pick, he's infinitely faster. He's not even showing a tenth of his skills here. George is bad ass.

True story,got an h42 flee mart steal.was yellow and someone brush painted red.I would like to restore it.Any one know what kind of paint they used back then ?I really didn't know anything about it but 15 bucks wasn't gonna break me.I just kept it because it plays and sounds so cool.

Me too...couldn't live with the short scale and uncomfortable heel, although it's a cool guitar in so many ways...

Yes the guitar looks like a Gibson Johnny Smith model mid 60s, with the moustache headstock design, Kluson sealfast tuners , the diagonal split diamond headstock emblem as well as the diagonal 3 piece position markers and L5C tailpiece. The floating McCarty pickup has only a volume control on the pickguard. The jack should be at the bottom of the lower bout, but it cord seems to be plugged into the center. It would also have "Johnny Smith" engraved on the TP emblem. .
