    So you print flash print an under base? That would be 3 layers of ink once the top colors are On there. Isn’t that too thick

    why do you have to have a fan to cool the bulb if you will expose the silk screen for less than a minute ? there is got to be a reason.... unless you are burning many screen per hour...

    i'm getting ready to build a unit just like what you showed. Any new pointers? My biggest concern is what is the distance from the bulb to the glass? I am using 34 x 34 inch screens and a 1,000 watt metal hylide.

    I'm curious to know about the math behind the size. I'm trying to build a unit for burning screens 24*20 (with a 30*28" glass) and I know that the distance from bulb to glass is 1.5 x mesh size. But that seems quite high and I'm curious to know where that math comes from. Also, about the angle of your reflectors. Do they need to be 45deg?

    Would a cut out instead of a print work the same when it would be exposed? Please let me know, trying to start printing.

  • @BillHood
    @BillHood 10 лет назад

    Erick, allow me to give you a suggestion. The first and perhaps most important thing to understand is that the ink is not transferred by pushing the ink through the mesh, but through a capillary action when the wet ink comes into contact with the dry substrate. You don't need any more pressure than to place the bottom of the mesh into contact with the substrate. This is enough pressure to add a bit more ink into the mesh opening and transfer the ink properly. This is the reason why you are having trouble on the large, more open areas.

      G. William Hood - Hey Bill, what is the secret to getting the ink to clear the screen with just that little pressure? A little curable reducer? Silicone? Super low angle? The he lower angle helps fear the screen but doesn't deposit enough ink. Thoughts? THANKS!!!

    I am curious, about the metal frames that you use is it something that you purchased or are they something that you can go to your local metal shop and have them frame up for cheaper or dip you weld them your self? Just wondering.

    acrylic glass depending on the kind that you get can allow 40% more light through. but your major factor is the UV coating that is on 90% of acrylic. (most plexiglass you pick up at home depot, menards, ect.. is acrylic glass)
